Well not quite, but come tomorrow and onwards. Models show it hanging on right through the coming week and into the next Potential for storms perhaps later in the modelling period.

Not quite nice for all, especially to start where western areas and Scotland could see much cooler weather. South eastern and central England are currently looking to be the favoured hot spots. Sunday looks to reach mid to high 20's but cooling off a bit on Monday.

It actually looks like the best weather we've had for a few years I think (if you arent about to explode with baby or a hayfever sufferer). Happy days!

Sparkling We're meant to be heading to the seaside August BH week. I'm not even thinking about that one yet!

The last time we camped there, the gales were so strong we returned to the campsite to find our lovely bell tent in a puddle on the ground, and the pole snapped in two! The rest of the campsite was like a disaster area, with nylon tents ripped to shreds and belongings flying around everywhere.

Been in the cold A/Ced dance hall all morning - it was LOVELY.
Emerged from it at 12pm to a furnace like blast of air from the outer opened doors and now back in my front room at 29 degrees .
Not a breath of air movement outside again, and am too warm indoors without a breeze from open doors.

Going for a kip in my bedroom which is 'only' 25 degrees as no sun through window yet and curtains almost drawn.

We're going camping the first two weeks of august but I daren't book any campsites in case it's raining...I hate camping in the rain!

It is not the temperature but the suffocating, airless, closeness here in the SE. Forecast said "especially sticky in the SE".

No dog walkies possible in the afternoon and even at 6.30, the last few days , I have had to take a spanish fan with me to be able to breathe and little furry dog has been gasping/panting with mouth open and tongue out .
All we need is a fresh breeze, help! It was fine at 6.30 this morning

We are on holiday in north devon & it's lovely. Misty in the mornings but quickly clearing. Had to go in the sea today to cool down! Amazing how fabulous a holiday in this country is when the sun is shining. Everyone is smiling .

I've had my loft hatch open today and upstairs does feel much colder.

My basic scientific knowledge of warm air is that it rises, but someone has tried to blind me with science and tell me that I will just fill the house with warm air. Whatever science says, ds's are much more comfortable in their beds tonight

Schools here break up on Friday. I really hope that we get some good weather during the 6 weeks off.

The enviroment agency monthly report here shows a positive picture for our water supply for the end of June despite the lower than average rainfall in June.
It will be interesting to see how things are at the end of this month.

The heat is really getting me down. Had a fan on in my bedroom last night, but the temp didn't drop lower than 26°C :(

Have been toying with the idea of getting a mobile air con unit. Can anyone advise how they work, and if they are worth the money?

I haven't heard anything about droughts yet, but with no rain in sight at all, it can't be long before this becomes a problem. The thought of having to use stand pipes in this weather makes me shudder.

Brilliant blue sky atm and air is clear and fresh. Could have a stronger breeze though.

Honestly, it's just a little hint and GFS is famed for forecasting non existing breakdowns.

It is pretty humid!

Some hints from GFS of a cool down at around the 23rd but there aren't enough indicators that will happen.

In the mean time el scorchio for most though fringe coastal counties could struggle a bit at times.

When the sky cleared at 7am the air was fresh and clear. Managed to stay fresh until 2pm.
So what went wrong at 3pm?
The fresh air has disappeared and is close and oppressive
The sky has hazed over somewhat, so that must be the reason.?

Just been out with little dog and it is already suffocating with no breath of air and much warmer than yesterday at this time. Little dog decided she'd had enough after 10 minutes and refused to go any further.
Where is the fresh breeze we've enjoyed last week? < just when I need it? >

Nicely toasty here in Leicestershire car read 31. Dog unhappy outside & has laid on the floor tiles most of the day. Off to North Devon on Monday and crossing fingers it stays nice .

BBQ had turned into burgers in a frying pan as it's too hot out in the garden. The kitchen is out the sun this late and the blinds been down.

Managed to get to 33C here. Quite warm really!

Clouds have all disappeared now. Little bit of breeze but it's a warm one. Took little dog out at 6.15 and even in the shade was too warm to walk - should have taken my spanish fan with me. Fluffy little dog was panting heavily so did just a short walk.
So looking forward to our 6.30 am walk in the cool air tomorrow
