Think England and Wales especially could be in for thunderstorms this afternoon as temperatures rise. There's more about it here on netweather. (I think the metoffice are attempting to do a weather warning about it but the page here hasn't been working for several days.)

We've currently got 23C here (Leicester) and it's quite humid in the sun.

We have a cracker of a thunder storm here on the berks/hamps border right now!

Sparklingbrook · 25/08/2012 14:10

I have been doing the hokey cokey with the washing all morning. now we have pitch black sky and thunder. Sad Worcestershire.

MadamTwoSwords · 25/08/2012 14:11

Proper thunder and lightening here (Cambridgeshire) but only the few odd spots of rain.
Very muggy though.

marriedinwhite · 25/08/2012 14:17

Two big thunder claps and it poured. It was v dark but there's light shining on the river so there must be a break in the clouds. Ooh there might be a rainbow. Must drag myself off this sofa to have a proper look - but my neck and shoulders are hurting and I can't really be bothered. SW London btw.

DS is at Reading!

GnocchiNineDoors · 25/08/2012 14:23

Newcastle

Rain alternating between drizzle and piss down throughout the day, no point in having the blinds open it's that overcast.

And Im off to a BBQ Grin

GinFilth · 25/08/2012 14:30

Another one from West Yorkshire - torrential rain bouncing back up to waist height and LOUD thunder. I quite like it. My border collie on the other hand is shaking with fright under my bed & won't come out for hours now - I hate the little shit who threw a firecracker at her when she was 2. Sad

BadDayAtTheOrifice · 25/08/2012 14:34

There's a big black cloud approahing Leicester. Hope this is it!

GloriaSmud · 25/08/2012 14:49

Littlefish ~ that does sound like a lucky escape!

Bad Day ~ western edge of Leicester and we've just had a thundery shower. It's gone quite black and we've had lightning and a few rumbles.

Hail and thunder now!

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 25/08/2012 14:57

It must be coming our way now. The rumblings have started!

mankyscotslass · 25/08/2012 15:02

Hail, heavy rain and thunder for a few minutes, now subsided back into distant rumbles and ominous skies.

Some Guides/Brownies are getting very wet at Linnet Clough.

MildredIsMyAlterEgo · 25/08/2012 15:02

Monster thunderstorms here in SE Wales for the last 1/2 hour Smile

Longdistance · 25/08/2012 15:04

In Luton and can hear it.

Twixed · 25/08/2012 15:08

And even though I saw the forecast why'd I pick today to haul newborn clothes blankets etc out of the attic to wash?

Just started pishing it down in Glasgow. No t&l yet though.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 25/08/2012 15:25

Well, we just had less than a minute of heavy rain. Then nothing.

bronze · 25/08/2012 15:25

NoComet · 25/08/2012 15:54

Kbear · 25/08/2012 16:51

Last hour thunderstorm in SE London and torrential rain. Just stopped and the sky is brightening. My DD is camping about 30 miles away.... wellies on!

Minstrelsaremarvellous · 25/08/2012 18:31

Yowser - torrential rain, hailstones like marbles, thunder, lightening - The Works! Walking the dogs with DH, DDs and nephew and it was so bad we had to call for an emergency pick up! (Lincoln). V v exciting but the hailstones hurt! (everyone had umbrellas apart from me)

HauntedLittleLunatic · 25/08/2012 18:33

Deep running thunderstorm now passed over (leicestershire).

Sky looking much brighter even if still cloudy.
