Anyone recommend any groups of holiday cottages where each family gets own cottage but can holiday with friends

We want to go away with a few other families and perhaps share some activities like day trips and barbecues but we are also keen to have our own living space sonideal would be a collection of two or three bed cottages that can be hired together and are next door or round a central courtyard.
