Anyone particularly recommend any of the 20 or so beaches in Torbay? I'm a single mum off with my 3 yr old for a few days. Also looking for recommendations for cheap, child friendly places to eat in the evening. Thanks.

I've just come back from weekend in Brixham.
Dartmouth is nice, the train is excellent there as is the boat across the river.
My 3 year old loved the model village in Babbacombe. We wemt to goodrington beach which was fab and free except 3.10 for the car park. Take lots of change for car parks. The buses are excellent too. I love it there!

The ferry sounds like great fun and I like the idea of getting a bus to different beaches. My 3 yr old thinks going on a bus is a treat lol. I'm also planning to go on the steam train and we'll probably go to Paignton Zoo as well. I'm so excited it's ridiculous!

Buses really good in Torquay - nice kids sandy beach at Broadsands which is between Torquay and Brixham. The Ferry which runs every hour from Torquay to Brixham good value and kids love it (and back again obviously) - as roads can be very busy during school holidays. Lots to do down there - and loads of places to eat in Torquay - take your pick!

We're staying near the Abbey Sands beach in Torquay. I'm going by car but don't want to spend the whole time driving if I can help it. Thanks for replying.

Hi - where you staying? Brixham, Paignton, Torquay? Know the area quite well been there a lot, some lovely places but it depends where you are staying really, and I presume you are going by car? There are loads of places to eat, but if you tell me where you are staying I could be more specific.
