Monitor for car at yard?

Anyone got any ideas for some sort of baby monitor that works from the car? DS often falls asleep in the afternoon when I'm at the yard and obviously I check him every 5-10mins but sometimes he wakes up while I'm mid mucking out etc and gets himself in a complete state. I also have to leg it down to bring hoss in, hate doing it but no other option really.
I would feel so much better if I could hear him and get to him as soon as he wakes up. Anyone got any ideas?

You could buy a power invertor, plug it in to your cigarette lighter and then plug in your normal socket. You have to be careful though, leave it too long and your car battery runs out!

I used to hate that, even when ds wasn't crying I'd keep rushing back to the car imagining that he was!
We never managed to find a monitor where the base could be battery operated, only ever the receiver, but that was 12 years ago so there might be some good ones on the market now. There's an old thread here with a couple of suggestions.

BT Monitors are the biz. I used a BT 100 with my first child for the exact same reasons you describe - it has a 300m range, really clear sound with no irritating buzzing/interference, rechargable batteries. Perfect for using around the yard Smile
