What class do you have next year? Same year group? Moving up or down? Looking forward to it (or not)?

Is it a case of same old, same old or pastures new?

I'm changing year group and looking forward to it after LOTS of years in my current year group.

I'm moving to year 4 after three years in year 2. Looking forward to a change but it's been ages since I taught KS2 (when training) and I don't think I know what I'm doing! Blush

When my head asked if I'd move classrooms, I said fine, but not into reception! Not that I'm adverse to teaching different year groups, but I'd be like a total beginner as I've not had infant age classes since teaching prac!

I think it's something that can usually be picked up quite quickly. I trained for KS2/3 and have mostly taught Y5/6 for the past 10 years. At Easter, I moved from Year 6 to my mixed Year 1-4 class and I'm slowly getting used to little people. It's not been too different in terms of teaching, though. We've done lots of practical stuff. I'm mostly doing Maths, though, so it's been a bit easier. Quite like the change although I do still prefer to teach the older ones.
