Presentation for interview

I've got an interview for a sixth form college lecturer post. Instead of teaching a lesson I have to give a 10 minute presentation (to staff not students) on a given topic. I've never had to do this before and I as I have been working as supply I have no colleagues I can ask for advice.

So, what are they expecting? I was going to pitch it at A level standard, briefly outline the topic and then give more detail on some aspects, finally sum up briefly. No handouts, use power point slides with bullet points, diagrams and maybe an animation clip if I can find a suitable one.

Any advice please?

Watch out for the member of staff who has been briefed to be an objectionable 16 yo
Do not try and teach a whole lesson

Doowrah - as long as I don't make them cry

hesterton - yes.

Penny - I'll watch out for that :)

Do I give a presentation on the subject matter (aimed at A grade students) or on how I would teach it? Should I include teaching activities, and expect them to do them or explain what I would ask students to do?

Thanks for that. I'll include a couple of slides of activities that I would normally ask students to complete, but move straight on to completed ones as a demo (and explain what I'm doing!). I'm ending up with a set of slides I could use for teaching this.

I'll bear your points in mind, thank you - confidence I can fake, I just don't want to screw this up by confidently doing entirely the wrong thing!
