My girls are 6 and in yr 2 do have just had their SAT results but I have no clue what they mean! Up until now the results have always been in a format like 2a,2b etc which I had git my head around but this year they are different. My girls had 5,5,5 and 6,5,5 respectively for English, Maths and Social and Personal development which i'm guessing is fine. Is that right? What is average level and what is the expected attainment for the end of yr2? Could anyone point me in the direction of a guide to the levels?

Thanks

I think that is right Llareggub. We got the national stats along with the class stats in with reports this year.

I googled this and found that 5 is expected and 6 is exceeding. The paper I found said something like less than a quarter of boys get a 6 for maths and that 75% acheive the expected standard. Not sure if I have remembered it correctly though.

Outcome 5 is roughly the same as level 2

No SATS in Wales. I teach in Secondary in West Wales and have no idea what those tests are or what the levels mean.
