Just curious, which union do you being to?
I joined up with ATL, NUT and NASUW as they were free to students. Now as approaching NQT wondering which to 'properly' join. Applying for NQT jobs, so don't know which will be dominant in my future workplace...

I also think it depends on how you feel about striking. In the last round of strikes NUT and NASUWT were both striking unions and ATL didn't IIRC.

I would go with the dominant union in your new school. I was NUT, moved schools and everyone was NUSWT so I swapped. Definitely power in numbers!
