I went to talk to RSPCA centre today to look at cats, hoping to rehome.
We can't take cat home until mid August, after hols. I'm a first time owner.....
So looked at all the cats & there was beautiful girl called Maisie, long black hair with stunning green eyes - the lady at RSPCA said she was a little nervous with new people.
Maisie slinked out of her cage, climbed onto my knee, nudged my hand & started drooling! I feel like i've been chosen 
Sad we had to leave her, fingers crossed she's still there when we go back!

Yes, we're both in all night to provide TLC
RSPCA said indoors which is one of the reasons we got her, she was sitting looking into back yard yesterday. I'll see how it goes!

It sounds as if she's settled in really well. All she has to do now is to learn your weekday routine which might take a few days so be prepared for lots of TLC requests this evening.
Remind me - is she to be an indoor cat or one who goes outside?

I do feel like a new mum again!! Learning behaviour & cries 
She's just had a quiet 30mins under bed in spare room.
Making sure DS gives her some space!

All sounding good. And as to the miaowing when she leaves her food station? I have no idea - she's your cat and you'll have a lot to learn about each other from now on.
And in some ways, cats are like kids - you start to worry when there's silence and not when there's noise! Give it a week and you'll be thinking to yourself 'It's too quiet - what's she up to?' if she's not creating somewhere in the house.

It's good to read. I am at the start of this process after getting back from holiday and hope to visit the local rescue centre sometime this week. I tried not to look too hard before going in case I fell in love like you did! So I am really pleased it worked out for you, so easily could have been me

Morning. I'm a bit bleary eyed.
Woken by mewing, yowling, racing around the house, leaping onto my chest for most of the night.
BUT she has used both trays wee & poo & has now tucking into breakfast!!
Hopefully tonight will be better!
I've just noticed she mews as she walks away after food/ drink! Maybe she's saying thanks? OR is it more likely she's saying 'is that it?'

I give it 10 minutes before the miaowing - or even yowling - starts. Just remember that if she finds her way upstairs somehow, she hasn't used her tray yet so keep an eye open for closed doors etc.

I'm ready for bed now!
Ds has just asked if we should leave a light on for her or the radio! Haha.
I shall update hopefully in the morning & not at 2am with a cat sitting on my head

You'll doubtless be warning the family before bedtime that she might 'wander' in the night and investigate their beds then. Good luck.

She keeps wandering into the kitchen & mewing, I have no idea what she wants.
Still no use of litter tray, but I took her to it before & she looked at me with disdain.

Puffed with pride i think! we've just brushed her & she is a tart! Loved it, rolling around on her back!
