This weekend Her Mistyness discovered the delight of an open drawer, obviously one with pyjamas in it, they are for sleeping right?

SmokingCat likes to sleep in front of the mirrored wardrobe door, or the sofa but mainly wherever I am.

Female cat likes the back of the settee, the kitchen sink, her radiator bed.
Male cat likes the shed roof, back of the settee, the kitchen sink, the kitchen roof and his radiator bed.
Neither of them are allowed upstairs however if they were it would probably be different!

Our cat is currently dozing on a paper bag that's awaiting recycling on the kitchen counter. He's also become obsessed with a towel I left on the spare bed while I was putting away laundry - came back in to get it and he was splayed out on it. He spends most of his time at the moment either sleeping on it or kneading it Confused. He hasn't slept in his his actual bed since about June.

When we got Dcat, we made him a lovely bed. He shat in it.

He sleeps on the radiator, a dining chair, DS bed or on one of us. He will not come in our bedroom, he thinks something in there will kill him...

I seem to attract cats with unusual habits. I have never chosen a cat they have all been strays.

Anyway Martha - completely white cat went to live with my parents when I moved and couldn't take her with me.

She decided the best place to sleep was inside my dad's car - not on the seats, she would climb on top of tyre and then up in to the engine.

When my dad took the car to to the garage the engine was covered in white hair.

She also used to sleep on top of the TV

Mostly in her bed Hmm. Also under DS1's duvet, on the pile of clean laundry, in the push chair and in the baby car seat when we had one. There was one memorable occasion when ds1 was very tiny and I got home from a walk with the buggy and found my previous cat asleep in the end of the cocoon that went in the buggy. She'd bern out with us all the time keeping the baby's feet warm.

Our cat is presently sleeping on her pouffe (bought especially for her when the old one sprung a leak). In the morning she can be found under the radiator where the pipes are as well for extra warmth, and then mid-morning on the spare bed in a patch of sunlight.

Her radiator bed is only occasionally used when nowhere more appealing can be found like the ironing pile, or our bed.

Nope. I have cat beds, and invariably you can tell which cat can be found in the best bed, because the other cat is pissed off.

And settles for sleeping in the middle of the corridor.

In the dark patch.

Sulking.

Just waiting for a foot to really put the boot in....

I remember before we got our cat DH, who was a novice cat owner, said 'but where will she sleep?' He didn't appreciate my answer of 'where ever she likes.'

Mine has a few places, he likes to drape himself over the radiator in the winter. He likes the sunny living room windowsill in the summer.

Hes currently asleep on the sofa in my DSs bedroom.

Mine doesn't have her own bed as she never slept in it. Her favourite places have been:
inside tumble dryer
underneath clothes airer in front of radiator
on DD's bed
on my bed
on clean washing, again next to a radiator
in the dogs bed, she growls at the dog when she tries to get on

Everywhere but her bed, the top of the microwave, the bed, the bath (with no water in), on top of the dog, right behind the front door so you cant open it without hitting her.

Mine has recently moved to the corner of the bath, over the summer she slept on me and before that a book shelf.

She picks a place and sleeps on it for a few months, then goes elsewhere - strange moggy

They both have boxes with bathmats in them in the bottom of my wardrobe and sleep there a lot, it has sliding doors which I leave open for them also the top bunk bed during the day when DS isn't around, the beanbag, the sofa, the spare bed, a sheepskin rug. Our bed occasionally during the day but never at night.

Dcat 1's preferred place in the day is up on ds1's bunk bed. In the night she sleeps with me and dh, usually draped over me like a cat-throw.

Dcat2 only ever sleeps on the sofa. He has made a few half-hearted attempts to jump up on our bed at night but dcat1 will have none of it and chases him away poor thing.

I've been off this week and have realised that mine has a pattern.
Morning - armchair
Lunch time - patches of sunlight in the front room.
Afternoon - DH's desk chair.
Evening - our bed
Night - no sleep, jump about. Then in front of the bathroom door. Then our bed.

Oh, and one used to sleep on the tv when we had one of the deep ones. Everybody on telly had a Davey Crockett hat.
