Not seen my little skinny kitty since last night. His fuzzy brother is about but no sign of the other one. It's not like him at all to not come back for food, he's usually out waiting for DP when he gets home, doing his attempted meow/squeak.
I'm pregnant, hot and tired so probably overly hormonal and worried about it but I am staring out of the window and am on the verge of tears. It's been so hot out today and worried he's wandered into a shed to cool off and got locked in. 
Come home now fur baby.

Oh, so sorry to all of you who have been through the same. We go get his ashes next week, I'm the same, I want him back desperately but know it will be so sad when we get just a box.
I've been window watching all day and hearing meows (well his attempted squeak of one) 
On a positive note DP felt the baby kick for the first time last night so had some support of the little one! x

Oh everything I am so so sorry We lost our gorgeous ginger tabby two weeks ago in exactly the same way - we are supposed to collect his ashes tonight, and I almost can't face it because it will mean he really is gone. I keep catching myself looking out the window for him.

So so sorry for your loss. I lost my darling boy the same way 9 weeks ago.
One of my friends said something that offered a little comfort and I hope it may help you too. He didn't suffer, he didn't have years of pain. He was out being a brave little explorer which is the best way for a cat to live.

So very sorry this happened EverythingH. It's awful to lose such a special friend and big part of your family.
You mustn't blame yourself, it's the risk you take being a cat owner -they live to adventure & explore.
He was lucky to have an owner like you who loved him so much

Been awake since 3 cuddling my other kitty and crying. I literally feel like a mad person for being this upset but it physically hurts. I can't believe Sticks is never going to walk with us to the shops again or give DP an often but begrudged 'bath' with his little tounge.
I had my 20 week scan yesterday and know I should be thinking of all the good things but my other cat is wandering downstairs at the moment doing the most pitiful cry that I've never heard from him and everytime there is a sound or a door moves he goes on high alert. They were so sweet together and have never been apart.
I just feel like I can't function today at all. Was hoping I'd feel a little better but still can't stop crying. Trying to rationalise that he was just a cat and far worse things happen but everything reminds me of him. I feel embarrassed that I am in this much of a state about it but can't seem to shake it.
Sorry for the emotional ranting!

Gosh i know how you feel, we lost one half of a sibling group the same way. So sorry for your loss. Speeding drivers

Thank you. like you say at least we know and he didn't suffer. We are having his ashes and will bury them in the garden. My poor little boy. .

Vets called as we were making our missing posters.
My gorgeous little fuzzyman was run over by some scumbag. Another person saw and took him to the vets to see if his owners could be found as he thankfully didn't suffer, it was instant.
I'm devastated, can't stop crying and whenever I see his brother walking round the place mewing and starting out of the window my heart breaks a little.
My poor little darling. They usually stay in over night but with the hot weather the windows were open. I feel like its my fault.

Get DP to alert the neighbours if they still have lights showing. Many areas are due to have rain tonight (even thunderstorms over the next few days) and you could have a mewing at the window soon enough. Fo they use a catflap?
Try not to worry - the odds are that he's fine and was just caught somewhere - or is in a hot pursuit with a meal on the hoof.
Lots of the people who have posted here with lost cats have had them return so the odds are good.
