I'm not stupid honestly Blush

I thought kittens purred/meaowed (sp) yet mine seem to make a noise a bit like a bird Confused they get my attention by chirruping biting my toes Hmm

My tom kitten squeaks, middle cat is mute unless she is in heat, and eldest cat has about 20 different miaows, most of which convey disdain at something.
Thankfully they all purr!

Ooh can't wait for the growling especially from 'Theodore' as he is utterly adorable but rather daft like 'Theodore' from the chipmunks Grin

Oneago was a pretty quiet cat, lurking. (His Mom abandoned him and his litter brother at a day old and they were hand reared by the breeder who presumably didn't speak Cat to them much.) It was slightly unnerving sometimes.

Wait till your first one growls at you - if you're lucky enough. Funniest thing to hear coming from a kitten's mouth.

Ah - you're noticing the 'OI - YOU LOT!' calls from Mom. (Which are usually calls of such stridency that they have to be noticed.) She'll likely have some softer noises as well though.

The chirping sound is very common. I love vocal cats! Our boy wails with joy when he's having a particularly good time and makes mad squawking noises when he's chasing insects. Grin

I have a friend who has two cats who are perfectly silent. They do purr but it's barely audible and make no other sound at all, just silently pad around the house. They are more dignified than my shouty one but it freaks me out.

Cute noises, I have a cat who still makes bird noises when he sees birds flying past the window.

My girl cats walks around wailing when she find a good toy, just now her favourite is red nose from red nose day!

I used to actively encourage some kittens to run up my jeans - just for fun, you should try it

All sorts - particularly if Mum is a vocal cat and talks a lot to them - but just a bit higher pitched and lower volume than a grown cat.
