Can anyone tell me the breed of this dog please? Sorry the picture isn't great I just screenshot it from FB.
My great granny had a dog very very similar to this and she was the sweetest girl. Haven't seen any more of them for years and years.
Thanks

100% not a toller! She looks like maybe a working cocker, or saluki or long haired dachshund

@strawberrisc - snap 😉

I strongly believe it is a crossbreed. Even if it has a pedigree, it is clear that the breeder (if there was one) paid no attention to the caracteristics of the breed.

If you are looking for a similar dog to adopt, maybe describe your gran's dog personality so we can attempt to match it to a breed?

A Google Image search shows it as a cream long - haired Dachshund.

I think it looks quite a lot like a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever...

It doesn't ...

It's definitely not a Toller Smile

Not a Saluki.

Looks like a spaniel cross to me.

Presumably the OP would know if her great grans girl was a short but long dachshund?

If you google 'blonde long haired dachshund' you will see dogs that look similar but they nearly all have black noses (I don't think I've ever seen a pink nosed dachsie and I'm an afficionado)

A sense of scale would help!

I think it looks like a saluki too. They are typically really gentle, sweet dogs (I think - never had one) so fits the description.

They're flipping divas!

Lots of working cockers are tiny.

Working Cocker could indeed work, but I'm still heading towards a Dachs or cross from the context of the basket (and legs look short).

Specifically working cocker. Shows look very different.

Legs are too short to be a saluki. I would guess at a long haired dachshund, possibly crossed with something else

I thought some sort of spaniel cross?

dd's boyfriend has an app on his phone where you can take a photo of any dog and it tells you the breed - it got it right for my crossbreed dog and said what mix she is! Dunno the app name.

Looks like a spaniel cross to me, or a dachshund cross but you’d have mentioned if your gran’s dog was smaller?
