Rescue needed urgently for american bulldog

Dh has just heard that someone at work is advertising their young female american bulldog as a "free to a good home" on gumtree and in Morrisons Sad. Obviously he has told him what a bad idea this is but he is adamant that he needs to find a home now for the dog. She is neutered and good with other dogs and children. Obviously she is quite big though. We can't have her as we already have 2 labs (one is a puppy) but will obviously take her short term if there is no alternative.

I have contacted bullies in need who have no space. Just wondering if anyone has any other ideas? We are in the north west but we can drive her anywhere within reason if we can find her a space in a no kill rescue.

Thanks :)

Something to do with the dog being on it's own all day in a kennel in the garden as they are living between two houses in different areas. Pretty sure she wont have come from a breeder but thanks that is a good idea, I'll tell dh to ask.

I have tried the dogs trust but other than that don't know of any reputable rescues nearby, both of ours came from rescues in south wales!

Thanks for the ideas, I will give LBDR a ring.

http://www.largebreeddogrescue.com/ do take AmBulls, not really your area of course and I know they're having a difficult time at the moment. They might be able to advise though?

Do you know why the owner needs the dog to go immediately? Has he contacted the breeder to ask if they'll take her back?
