Can I ask, if you have laminate/wooden flooring, is it a No-No to get a Dane?

Sorry not Dane owner so you can tell me to go away :) but I have standard poodles, big long legged gangly dogs and I HATE laminate flooring, no traction and not good for joints. We only have it on a couple of floors but I had the dogs (even the toys) running on them, corners are major hazard around tables etc. You may be asking more along the lines of will a Dane damage laminate flooring, but I am thinking of would the laminate flooring damage the Dane!

Yup, as above. In fact the Dane rescue people won't rehome to well laminated owners. Solid wood isn't the same issue, it isn't usually as slippy and their nails can groove it up a bit for traction. Mine do fine on solid but wouldn't allow them on laminate.

You can always get a load of rugs!

We had a dane and laminate. All was fine. Now the plasterboard walls weren't...

I have Danes and laminate floors downstairs and they are fine (so far!) but we don't have a lot of clear floor space for them to run around fast so they can't do too much damage :)
