What has happened to Tikkabilla??

I used to love it - it was my reward for getting up early with DS! Now it seems to have been replaced by the awful Me Too - I thought yesterday was a one off as it was Sunday but they did it today as well

========
Dear Miss

Thank you for your e-mail regarding 'Tikkabilla'.

I was delightd to read that your son enjoys this programme but I understand that you're unhappy that has been dropped from the Cbeebies schedule.

I know that this programme has come to the end of this particular series but our future schedules are only confirmed up to ten days in advance, which means it's not possible to give details for programmes beyond this period. Our schedule listings may be found at the following link:

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes

I understand that 'Tikkabilla' not being on has disrupted your and your sons' daily ritual and so I've registered your comment on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that's circulated to many BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive Board, channel controllers and other senior managers.

The audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content.

Thanks again for taking the time to contact us.

Regards

Joe O'Brien

Ah it's well worth getting organised, means that there's always a bob the builder or thomas to watch - essential in our house!

ElectricElephant · 09/09/2009 13:00

MrsJamin - very true. We do have a PVR, but I'm not that organised I'm afraid!

EE - This is where having a scheduled recording thing like SKy Plus is v useful (we have a free version) - you can record milkshake programmes you like (like Thomas) and then skip through the ads straight to the programme.

Grandpa in my pocket is awful, I'm afraid the TV has to go off when that comes on.

afraid to say I don't like milkshake either - half of it is adverts, and the only thing on there that DD is allowed to watch is peppa pig.

LSPS have you tried milkshake (C5)? I stumbled on it and it made a nice change from cbeebies.

dd loves Grandpa in my pocket I think it's for slightly older children. She also likes Waybaloo (or however it's spelt) as does ds. I wish they wouldn't put ITNG on after it though, 1's bad enough but one after the other

I've sent one too - about Tikkabilla and the new, miserable, bedtime hour. Even DH said he hated Waybulloo!

norktasticninja - do you think there's something slightly wrong with us? We're complaining because we don't get to watch Tikkabilla anymore.

I wish they'd put Big Barn Farm back on at 7.30am. I don't know about DS but I liked it.

It's my 3 year olds favourite - in fact he's become a bit obsessed. It's weird because my scheduling on sky + shows the one a week ago as number 46 in a series of 70 shows so wonder what's happened to the rest. I've e-mailed cbeebies to find out the score !! Just also checked on an online tv guide and there's no more scheduled...bring back tikkabilla !!

charis · 07/09/2009 17:44

I liked tikkabilla, it had a good variety of presenters of different ages and backgrounds. It can't be good for all childrens programs to be presented by either cartoon creatures with funny voices or 20 somethings.

Bring back play away.

me too norktastic, but it went downhill and has now gone

Her little girl way of speaking, the irritating as hell cutesy facial expressions, the over the top, fake, stage school way she does everything.

Oh and those bizarre big soled hover-trainers she wears.

Disliked ALL the Tikkabilla presenters come to think of it (well apart from Justin).

Give me Chris and Pui anyday.

LadyStealthPolarBear · 07/09/2009 17:24

ah right thanks, she did seem a bit small and chirpy but I didn't see her enough for it to really start bothering me
Please please can Me Too go?? I'll even have the fimbles back!

agree with norktastic, it's pretty difficult to watch her in the later episodes of tikkabilla, and she was terrible during her (thankfully brief) stint presenting on CBeebies.
