Haven't seen a thread about this yet. Did anyone else watch it?
Mel Giedroyc playing same role she did in Bake Off - sympathetic to competitors and encouraging them.
Interesting mix of contestants.
Very wide skills range. Think the beds they made would have been better if they'd been given a bit longer and hadn't had to rush and bodge some of the woodworking.
Is there any limit to the skills which can be turned into a reality show? - baking, sewing, pottery, jewellery-making and now woodworking!

The only problem with Misti's is I could see myself leaning back after a couple of glasses of wine, forgetting there was no support behind me and toppling ungracefully backwards like an upturned tortoise.

I liked the judges.

I loved this show and would like to see it back but with warmer/friendlier judges (the man in particular was such a snob) and perhaps have them make smaller pieces so that they did not have to spend so much time using power tools and be able to focus on the design more - better quality and finish would be more show-stopping at reveal time. And the contestants would be able to bond more Smile

It's a very fine line between "challenging" and "impossible" I think - I guess they don't always get it right.

I agree. Bake Off suffers from this, with the inability to get things cold enough to ice without recourse to the freezer.

Working with the very tight time limit is a skill in itself though.

I think I could make a garden building but there is no way on Earth I could do it within any kind of time limit. I think the time limit is essential to avoid ending up with everyone in a bunch at the top of the tree IYSWIM.

The final was once again an illustration of the problems caused by tight time limits. The judges criticised Radha for laminating his wood because thinner pieces would have provided as much support - but if he felt his design needed bigger pieces, then that's what he should go for and in RL he wouldn't have been under so much pressure to get the glue dry and would obviously have finished the piece. Charlie wouldn't have hurried nailing her slats on and would have made a much better job of it. Misti would have seen that the steps weren't great and would probably have redone them. I do think on all these programmes there needs to be a rethink; producers love to ramp up the drama, but I don't think viewers particularly want it.

I couldn't see what Misti's was going to be like until it was done, then it looked fantastic. She deserved the win.

I love Radha though and his shed, sorry meditation room, was very nice too.

If they do another series I would love to see them try a boat.

Misti deserved the win.

Not a shock. Poor Radha and he’s still smiling.

@KilledByWitches

The potting shed is a bit basic, more than I could ever dream of building though.

There was a lot of split wood too.

I wonder if Misti will lost out as there are no walls.

My pitch is a competition for wanna be hat designers/makers, it will be called 'Who Wants to be a Milliner?"

🤣🤣

Now that's a great idea.
