Dicte: Crime Reporter.

I accept I am probably the only person who watches this Grin
But - when does she actually do any reporting, or is crime reporting a very very part time job - all she does is wander about solving crimes or drifting round her house or sorting out her family.

Also Dicte - don't get back with Bo, you crazy woman - he's horrible, he hits you , he sleeps with his XW, whatever happened in the Lebanon doesn't excuse any of this.

And tell Rose that Baldur is no good for her at all and will run off as soon as the baby starts giving him sleepless nights. Stick with Mikkel he is much nicer.

Also - as a supposed feminist, not sure why you turned on Anne - Thortsen (or whatver he is called) has behaved dreadfully and is a total cock lodger. he didn;t do a very good job with support ing Rose, so he shouldn;t be in charge of the kids. And a commune ? Seriously? He's blackmailing you to give up your job Anne, ditch him.

That's all - can't wait for the next series. Grin

Nina’s creepy work colleague suddenly decides on the spot to move to a different country as he knows when he’s beaten He only moved city, back to Copenhagen, not to another country! He was weak and a bully, so I'm not really that surprised that he was so easily beaten tbh.

I don't know who August, Maj's new squeeze, is though. Where did he come from? Confused I thought he was just an anonymous removal van man at first. Did I miss a bit?

I fear for Rose with Baldur (I think he's a no-hoper boho trustafarian) and Anne in that cult commune. Did you see how small and cramped the rabbit 'hutch' was?!?! However, I got the impression that after she delivered Rose's baby she saw the light and realised she just wanted to stay in Aarhus and be a midwife, so maybe at least she'll be happier and less overworked in her professional life. Shame about the swanky Geneva apartment though.

Also, did they jump really rapidly from Dicte being at her boss's house and his wife walking in and the near-threesome to her having a semi-fling with him and then it seeming to end just as suddenly?

I have a strong feeling that I missed a section or even a whole episode somehow.

I really miss Wagner Sad

My DP says that was the last ever series, but I don't know where he's getting his info from.

5000FingersofDrT yes, The Legacy is very good. I've just started S3, which seems to have skipped forward in time a bit and changed character focus somewhat.

Thicker Than Water was great. Lovely Scandi summer island setting. There's a second series but I haven't found time to watch it yet.

There's also apparently a second series of Trapped coming, and Acquitted, which was Norwegian and very good too.

I love a Scandi drama.

Follow The Money was great - I recommend that one, Kurri, if you can find it.

Did anyone see The Legacy? A famous woman artist dies and her children fight over her estate when she leaves the lot to a girl who works at the local florists (but who is in fact an illegitimate sibling, unknown to them all). Lots of Danish actors from Borgen etc popped up in that. I watched the first series but slipped behind in S2. It was on Sky.

Ooh I loved Trapped!

With that gorgeous Icelandic actor who’s built like a bear Blush

PickAChew · 11/08/2018 16:26

That Icelandic ballet dancer one is Case, I think. Same producers as Trapped. I enjoyed that one.

Only got 5 minutes into Dicte. Too manic for me.

did she film the car park incident or something and blackmail him

She made sure she was in view of the cctv but how and how quickly she managed to get hold of the footage and turn it into a video she was able to show her boss on her phone was somewhat glossed over Grin

Terrible memory. Am struggling to remember any of Dicte Series 1. Yet I watched a whole series at some point. No idea which series or when I did that! Grin

Perhaps I'll just start at the beginning!

I thought I must have missed a bit with Nina's creepy boss - did she film the car park incident or something and blackmail him (he just suddenly seemed to announce he was leaving - but I may have been letting the dog out whne the action took place) Grin)

And yes you are right about Baldur - absolute dead loss, he's going to be trouble to come for Rose (but no doubt Dicte will find a way of interfering and making it all so much worse Grin)

DH and I watched Dicte but I was quite disappointed with how they rushed to tie up all the ends so quickly. For example:

Dicte murders someone and is ok about it Shock

Maj starts a new relationship someone she’s known for five minutes.

Balfour suddenly becomes dad material after being a free spirit for the entire series.

Dicte does a total u-turn with Bo after saying there were so many things between them that were broken.

Nina’s creepy work colleague suddenly decides on the spot to move to a different country as he knows when he’s beaten Hmm

Still enjoyed it though!

Lots of suggestions for things I haven't seen - I'm getting excited.Grin

I used to quite like Beck, but I kind of lost track of when it was going to be on, so I'm probably way behind in that now.

I really like subtitles too - it helps me concentrate on what is happening, and often if dramas are in English I can't understand them because everyone mumbles (of course I could put subtitles on for them too, but that would be admitting defeat Grin)

Going to search out Follow the Money now.

Look Op, I really must get on now. Stop distracting me on MN! Wink

Thicker than water was a slow moving excruciating car crash Grin Enjoy!

Walter Presents channel is a bit of a gem. Must look through their list again.

Follow the Money was ace. Loved the opening credits & music! Series stayed with me long after it finished.

Scandi or anything subtitled is good for me. I'm v noise sensitive so it stops me constantly fiddling with the remote so everyone is happy Grin

I enjoyed Thicker than Water (that's Tjockare än vatten to those of fluent in Swedish, Kurri Wink). It looks like it's still available on channel 4 catch up.

I enjoyed Modus. And Hidden. Also Arne Dahl is quite good (Danish). Did you watch Follow the Money? That was Danish, also a bit violent, but quite interesting. Or Trapped.

I started one in Icelandic, I think, about a ballet dancer, but never got round to finishing it.

I feel so much more cultured when I watch telly in other languages Grin

Series 3 finished last night - but pretty sure it is available on More4 catch up.

I'd never heard of 'Thicker Than Water' GraveorExtension - that definitely looks like my kind of lunacy, I'm looking forward to it (assuming I can find it somewhere) Grin

Anyone see 'Thicker than water?'

Strangely compelling but I was SO relieved when it was all over!

Brought out some strange feelings whilst I was watching it. It was either the mental headspace I was in at the time, or it touched a nerve somewhere or it was just bloody weird Grin

You are pretty much spot on with Dicte's activities GrinI watch with my sister and we spend the whole time shouting at the TV 'what are you doing woman?' Grin

Thanks, Kurri, I'm not worried about spoilers in the least because I suspect I can predict exactly what she'll be doing. Blundering into situations she shouldn't, annoying the nice policeman and messing up her private life yet again. Oh, and meddling in her friends' affairs, usually with disastrous consequences Grin

Remind me again why we watch it?! because all the other good Scandi things are off-air at the moment

Of Course you can 5000Fingers - all Dicte fans welcome Grin
I love 'Dicte- Bloody Idiot' - she is just that. All her friends and relations are nothing but stresses in her life, and she always puts herself in really dangerous situations and doesn't tell anyone where she's going Grin

Hope I haven't spoiled any stories for anyone who hasn't seen them yet. They are all the usual nonsense though so not much to spoil Grin

Hello, you two! Grin May I join this select band? I also watch Dicte but am inclined to agree with a reviewer who said recently that the series should be re-titled 'Dicte - Bloody Idiot'.

It's weirdly compelling, though. Like Leslie, I'm recording the latest series to watch later, so I haven't seen any episodes so far. But I expect she's still being as maddening as ever.

(I really loved 'Hidden' as well)

Report
KurriKurri · 11/08/2018 11:43

No I haven't seen that one - I must look it up. I did watch 'Hidden' which was partly in Welsh and partly in English - that was quite good (but also mad). Have you seen Modus ? That is Swedish IIRC - I've only watched the first series of that so far - also quite good.

I feel I am practically fluent in the Scandi languages now Grin

Ooh Belgian. I'll keep an eye out, thanks. I'm mainly trying to stick to Swedish and Danish to help my practically non-existent Swedish studies Grin it's exciting when I recognise a word or phrase without the subtitles.

I enjoyed Vlucht HS13 which was Dutch. Did you see that?
