Silent Witness ......is it me?

2 hours of silent witness. Followed about 50% of it. Pivotal discussions between lead cast members unintelligible. Couldn't follow it by the end. Is it me?

Nicky drove me mad in the most recent one
Like why does she go off on her own into dangerous places Hmm

That is certainly a possibility 😂

... or maybe they thought it was too crap so they'd bury it in February?

I wonder if it was scheduled for Christmas but maybe there was some relevant real-life event that would make it tasteless to show at that time?

Do you what I don't get - why are they so determined to not have Nikki sleep with her colleague as they say there's only so far that you can go with that yet they have her 'she's single and hates it' all the time?! Either let her shag Jack or stop making finding a man her primary focus.

Why was it a Christmas episode?

There are going to be more series are there?

Somehow I had thought that that was the last one ever.

I really like the friendship between Jack and Clarissa

And i like Max Clarissas husband and hope his role gets bigger.

The mingling of the pathology and police detective role has gone on for so long I don't even acknowledge it. (Though I has got worse recently.)

What I thought was daft was a woman who was living in fear (understandably) after her trauma in Mexico is now recovered. Even having recovered would the standard individual not be a smidge surprised or paranoid at their doorbell being rang at 4am?

I totally switched off towards the end- was the SIM card ever mentioned again?!

CSI went the same way. Swapped decent stories for stylised camera work and I couldn’t watch it anymore.

Wouldn't she have recognised he was in her front garden?

Nikki has moved house so many times in the last few years so she probably doesn't even recognise her own front garden. At the beginning of this series I'm sure she said she had been back from Mexico for 6 weeks and there's a different house in each series.

Until you called him JRT, I had never thought of him as Jack Russell Terrier and now I can't get that out of my mind :(

Report
Jux · 09/02/2018 18:52

I was pleased to see that JRT was going to be in it, but then he was an obnoxious and annoying character so I was quite pleased he went again. I'd've got used to him, just like I get used to new Dr Whos though, and similarly I rallied in the face of Harry's and Leo's desertions.

GnotherGnu, I think she described trying to shoot herself (but I didn't think kill herself), and I think it went wrong and she got her horse too, by mistake. I expect she thought she'd just play innocent victim and they'd all leave her alone eventually.

Of course, she'd reckoned without the Valiant Nikki and her Derring Do (don't we all?).

It's the writers I blame, unless it turns out they've been slaved to the actor.

I hoped Julian Rhind-Tutt would stick around, I'd definitely go along with him returning.

I agree with NotAgain, I like Emilia Fox, it's just that the way they write her character is bloody ridiculous.

GnotherGnu · 09/02/2018 18:21

If the daughter intended to kill herself as she said, why would she need to put the bodies in the lake? And if she didn't intend to kill herself, what did she propose to tell people about the fact that her father, grandfather, sister and au pair had all disappeared overnight?

There is literally. no profession that Nikki can't turn her hand to:

Pathologist, SOCO, detective, counsellor, psychologist, silly bint who runs round trying to get herself killed

I do love Emilia Fox though. She looks good in a pair of tight tre.ws and a nice blouse.

I like Clarissa as well.

When Nikki first joined, wasn't she doing facial reconstruction?

That didn't last long did it?

Was interesting as well.
