Just finished this last night. What are we going to do with our selves without our friends the Proudmans and Nina's fantastic clothes and earrings?

We laughed, we cried, we were actually not right for a couple of days at one point (you'll know what point I mean).

My hairdresser recommended it and said he was gutted even recommending it as he was finished and we had it all to look forward to. The best thing I've watched in years. Easy, funny, stress free viewing that sent me to bed with a fuzzy feeling.

What do we watch next?????

What's everyone thinking about S6? I loved the first 5 and kind of wished they'd left it there really. Just feels as if they are using the same old story lines and it's all been done before.. I'm only halfway through though so maybe it'll get better..

Apparently it was a different writer or director (can't remember which now!) which maybe explains it.

Oh dear God - don't want to give away a spoiler but the somebody earlier in the thread mentioned 'weep fest'. Er, ... yes.

I've just read an article online about a potential 7th season which, now i've ploughed through UK Netflix season "6", has made me realise there's another, actual season 6 & Netflix's numbering is out of whack. It is spoiler filled in a way that makes me think that bowing out at the end of UK Netflix's season 6 may be preferable. Link

There were some laugh out loud bits too. Like when Nina sat on Eloise's guinea pig. Smile

Well, I've just crunched through all 6 seasons in a remarkably short amount of time thanks to this thread. DH must be a keeper because he doesn't want to divorce me off the back of this totally immersive experience.

I don't want to put any spoilers up, but I do want to give Patrick the thumbs up for calling the Proudman family dysfunction from time to time. He totally nailed it (and, I think, spoke for the audience) on the occasions he set limits. Were the family to exist in real life the MIL threads alone, let alone the siblings, would keep MN busy, busy, busy.

Still, suffocating family dynamics have never been so appealingly portrayed. Just when it was getting a bit trite, kookie or silly, there would be a sucker punch scene with real emotional depth - when Asher Keddie was at her best. I also thought it was admirable how a character as initially as unsympathetic as Billie's could be turned around so I was rooting for her by the end.

Oh and this v

I'm mostly enjoying it, but hate Eddie Perfect's singing voice. I literally cannot stand it, and have to mute or fast forward every time he sings.

When I told DH that Eddie Perfect apparently has a career as a real life singer/performer in Aus he was Shock as we were in complete agreement that Mick's singing was awful and the songs (apparently his) were meh too. And another thing - did anyone notice he suddenly got very trim half way through one of the seasons? Not quite nurse Helé in ER trim, but still noticeably slimmer.

I'm now about half way through Series 1 (or Series 2 if you believe Netflix). I love the character of Martin Clegg.
