I thought it was brilliant, did no-one else watch it? Sheridan Smith was great as usual. I assume her hair was regrowing after the cancer programme she did recently

Found it very disappointing,and the end was ridiculous,sentimental and unlikely. And the scene where she walks past the door and overhears her own house being bugged was absolutely ludicrous. As if the door would have been unlocked, when she was visiting!

Really enjoying this, but feel it's 'rushed' a bit in some ways. She's doing all this investigation behind the scenes (eg with the rowing club) which we don't get to see. Also find some things a bit far fetched and unrealistic. Love SS though she's a fantastic actress!

I love Sheridan Smith, was fab in Cilla and Mrs Biggs. I'm not enjoying this as much. I can't get past the very dodgy hairdo. She is so beautiful but the hair. Gah!

The MIL was bugging me too for a while...then realised she played Valerie on one of "The Royle family" Xmas specials! Funnily enough she played Sheridan smiths mum in it! Her husband Roger was dead flash bragging about all his money and how he had bought Valerie new boobs AND a dyson for Xmas! ????

Not seen epi 2 yet. But from these threads it reminds me of a book by mark billingham ( will have to look up the title) where the main woman character found out her husband was undercover cop etc etc. not a Thorne novel, although he was mentioned at the end. Very similar story line.

The MIL, Sharon Duce, has been in quit a bit of stuff. I recognise her, but there's nothing on IMDb that makes me think "oh yes, that's what I saw her in!"

Just caught up on the two episodes after having it recommended. Agree SS's make up is ridic.

I like the twists. I wish stuff would be fleshed out a bit more - it feels quite hurried already. The guy who plays her fancy man was in the Syndicate, the first series, for the poster who wondered. And the murdered cop was in Watermelon - tv movie of the book by Marian Keynes (was actually really quite good for shame!).

I recognise the Mother in Law but dont know where from.

I wondered if the Ma'am suspected Jo to be honest. I think Jo suspecta Tom. I think her lover has more to do with it than she would ever suspect.

i was really looking forward to this but its so bloody boring , it got good at the end when ss found out he had got another family but had to wait an hour for that really disappointing

Just caught up wth episode one today. Sheridan was good, but her over the top make up started to distract me! The top police woman looks sinister. The guy playing Jack, who she was considering an affair with, looked familiar. (Trouble is,,i,start goggling the actors to find out what they have been in before, then loose track of the plot!) I think it will turn out the husband was killed by a policeman or something like that. Or the guy who used to be in Eastenders as a baddie doctor!

Did the husband find out that he was being recorded or was he recording in case what he was working on went tits up & he thought that he might be blamed?

I like stuff that isn't all action tbh.

RedandYellow I do not think you missed anything. We do not really know. The Guardian assumed it was the husband listening in on the wife, but let us face it it could have been anyone, police, mob, random passer-by.

Thought it was rather slow with not that much to hold my attention. It may pick up more but only 3 episodes so guessing he got killed by the mob. He turned out to be working for the mob. Or uncovered corruption and the police got him...what have I missed?

Savoy It is about a woman PC whose police officer husband is murdered while undercover. The Sheridan Smith character did not realise that her hubby was undercover for the last 3 years. They have kids, and she wanted to leave him for another police officer, so it is all kind of murky and sad and quite angry. Everyone has regrets and there is lots of politicking in the police.

It was quite good, but the plot was occasionally rather hard to believe. Good actors though.

What's is about? I saw the icon on itv player but I hadn't heard anything about it. Generally I like anything with Sheridan Smith in. I loved her in the train robber drama.
