She is looking marvellous. Why doesn't my skin look like that and I am a lot younger.

ANYWAY steak and chips (tagliata and tuscan fries).

I like the book and the TV show is looking good so far.

Someone in the audience did say she looked very beautiful and asked what helped.

She does believe in having full fat (not the psuedo fat / low fat type things), good balance of fresh foods and apprantly gets through 3 litres of water a day (and lot's of sex - only kidding but I told DW that part Wink).

The question section was more intersting than the first 'interview' part where she spoke about her book - alot of which is in the intro but with some additional embellishment. Still don't fully believe she was a'poor' student at Oxford cooking onion soup to eek out her measley grant.................

Book signing que was very long!! But I did get to meet her and basically said my MN name and would she - so she signed Nigellisima book "Yes, I will!". Apparently no-one has invited her round to cook a dish from her books - so like a gent I offfered to!

Am now an official Domestic God too (asked her to sign two books).
Will try to post up pics on profile at some point.

Yes, in close up she looked just as fab, black dress, small white collar and red shoes Incl soles) Christian Laboutin (sp??)

I'm liking the look of all her dishes in this series so far. Tried the anchovy based ingredients with pasta last night. Scrummy. Smile

Her skin IS beautiful. I personally think it's because she allows herself to have cream in her diet.

Ask her 'how the hell did you come up with meatza?'

Off to see Nigella tonight at Cheltenham Literary Festival - should I pop the question to her??

Agree about quick fix. That cheesecake she made last week was mostly made from ingredients from packets or jars but I still thought it looked scrummy and would definitely have a go at making it.

Love her, love her, love her. PBB has fingers in ears & is singing lalala so as not to hear the criticism
She is just my kind of cook, lazy & looking for a quick fix. Wasn't that keen on the gloopy green stuff to go on the spaghetti, looked far too healthy & low fat, but those fried testicle things looked yummy.

oh yes Prarie, not to mention all the "nuzzeling".

Surely that pork (last night - yes I watched it again, there was nothing else on) was as cold as a wet fish by the time it was rested, sliced & handled, put to bed on a garden of greenery on a cold plate, drizzled with unctuous ju and finally served?

What's with all the ingredients "tumbling" and "clattering" into the pan???

Agree, she is a caricature of herself now.

I can't watch her now. As for being male fantasy, well dh won't watch her now either, and he used to lurve her.

Just watching tonight's show. I must say, I do like the look of quite a few of her recipes, and I like the fact that they seem quite simple too.

AAAH hippo Soft Focus of course that could be one way she looks so gorgeous! but she still looked good in the normal focus One Show studio (well I think it's normal focus!!) She's always been OTT (you can still see her older progs. on Sky). It's the fridge raiding I found hard to take. No wonder she had a lot of weight to lose. Grin

I agree that it's all a bit ridiculous etc, and she does seems to rely on packets and tins as well instead of doing any real cooking . . . BUT . . . I thought that cheese cake she made last week looked fab! Anything with Nutella in is fine by me lol. Also I feel that some of the newspapers have been a bit unkind. Saw something at the weekend about how one of the papers had taken her new cook book to Italy to see what proper Italians made of it and they really slated it. Thought that was a bit out of order - she does say over and over in the tv show that its HER take on Italian food, and not authentic Italian recipes. That's fair enough in my opinion. When I want proper authentic recipes from Italy then I watch those two old greedy Italian geezers instead. Especially the one that jumps off boats and sticks squid down his trunks! Never getting that image out of my head I'm telling you! He he Grin

I can't stand her now neither. Her last show, I could barely keep a straight face during, we watched it as a late night comedy, but she has just gone too far and she annoys the hell out of me and I want to slap her.

I do like her recipes normally though, and her Kitchen book is fab, but the recipes in the first episode were not appealing in the least.

I watched last night for first time in years. I used to be a fan, but now it's so OTT. It's like they took all the endearing parts of Nigella, and made a caricature of her. Quite hideous & laughable! What's with all the inane grinning at inanimate objects? What's will all the soft focus? What's with all the long fingernails scraping around the food (yuk!)? As for the control freak ness of it all ..... "I INSIST you eat this ice cream in a brioche bun"!!! with gurning grin Shock Fuck the fuck off.

I don't think this show is aimed at women anymore - it certainly doesn't appeal to me at all. It like fantasy land cooking, but men's fantasy land perhaps, certainly not mine.

then again it could be I'm just insanely jealous of her larder

In my 'eat anything' days I would've LOVED coffee icecream, esp. that semi freddo soft Italian ice cream, the best in the world IMO and in a brioche OMG!!! but now Shock

DH is thanking the God of Ice Cream for coming up with the idea of slapping it into brioche. He can't think of a better use for brioche.

Her recipes are a bit OTT and - well - gross for my liking......coffee ice cream, mmmm, but in a whacking great bun? No. And she always seems to have a chocolate cake on the go. Her food is just too rich, gloopy, creamy, whacked-together-and-stuffed-in-the-gob for my liking. But many might feel those qualities are positives! Grin

Oh I feel your pain I was a veggie (mostly vegan) up until recently and usually most things on the veggie menu are either slathered in cheese or cover in tomato sauce. Thank the veggie god for Indian restaurants.
I was thinking about her waist line too their is no way I could eat that type of food every day I would be massive!

I was looking at the pearl barley risotto thinking I'd quite like to try making that, when dh said "that doesn't look like something I'd want to eat" Grin

I suggested a bit later that he might like to make some Celestial Loveliness.

Littlebairn All peppers are torture for me I'm a demi veg. and every restaurant thinks that we only eat peppers aaaaagh! I hate the effing things!!!

There is no way (i've just watched the last bit of her prog. tonight) that she can eat choc. cake, ice cream in a bun and keep off the 3 stone that she certainly has lost before making this prog. I noticed that she mentioned her kids liked carbs so she's been off the carbs deffo.

I also saw her interviewed on the One Show this evening she either has a very good botox surgeon or incredibly thick amazing quality make up. How does she look like that????

Love her lipstick. Adore nigella full stop but yes her recipes are increasingly unappetising
