Teenagers

Beware of this Youtuber

(I have already posted this thread in "Internet Safety", but I think it belongs here as well. If HQ disagrees, please, remove.)

This is directed at the parents of teenagers and pre-teens, but whether you have children of that age or not, please, read through - you could potentially prevent the child(ren) of a family member, or a friend from putting themselves in a potentially dangerous position!

This 31 year old YouTuber, Onision, has for a very long time been exploiting teenage girls for his own profit in his YouTube videos. Young girls (some of them looking frighteningly young) post pictures (many of them very sparingly dressed) of their bodies to his website, for him to rate publicly on his channels.
He has on numerous occasions belittled, bullied and sexualized these girls, again, publicly!

That aside, his content is extremely inappropriate, and he will often give very detailed, graphic stories about his sex life with his current wife and their 19 year old girlfriend. He ridicules serious issues like anorexia, depression, and other mental problems, and publicly shames his viewers, if they disagree. He has a 16 year old girl (who's supposedly his wife's friend) living with him as well.

Throughout his YouTube carrier, he has been with two minors, one of which he drove into a suicidal state, and the other which he married (his current wife). Both were fans of his.

A huge part of his audience are girls in their early to mid teens. He's very manipulative, and seems to have a very tight grasp on many of them.

Please, beware of this guy!

Why are YouTube not removing those types of videos!

My 14yr old DD loves his videos same with my 18yr old DS but to be honest I'm a little shocked at how it's okay for under 18's to post underwear pictures of themselves to his page that get featured on his videos..

Im horrifed hope the man gathering evidence is successful...cant believe he is still allowed to post.

I have come in contact with someone who is trying to get take legal action against this man. At the moment he's gathering evidence on his own, though, and he's asking for help.
Here's a link to his Facebook post: m.facebook.com/thechambersofmyheart/posts/1177400355713407

What he's basically asking, is that people share his post so it might be able to reach parents, whose kids have been in Onision's videos. It seems to be the only way anything can actually be done.

They work with other agencies overseas. Don't let that stop you. A lot of time when grooming or exploitation is happening, it's through anonymous chat.
If you are outside the UK then check out the virtual global task force for who to contact locally. If you want to report him also in America, I think it's ICE.

bloodyteenagers I've read through their site, and I don't think there's much they can do either, since he's American.

Op have you contacted CEOP about him? YouTube won't give a shit but ceop should. Send them everything you have about the guy.
The more people who contact them the better.
Unlike YouTube ceop do take exploitation very serious.

Bug, is there any Facebook campaign or anything to raise awareness of him? I'd like to share it among my friends.

Update: A thirteen year old girl and her sister asked him to edit out a picture (of the thirteen year old) from one of his videos. It's been five days since he said he'd do it, and even longer since he was asked the first time, and the picture is still there.
It seems that if a child is featured, it stays featured. The video has been reported several times, by several people, however, as of right now YouTube apparently hasn't bothered taking care of it.

He has acknowledged the issue, but doesn't seem to think that there's anything wrong with what he's doing, and thus he will continue doing it.

Please, be careful with what your children are doing online. This man does not have their best interest in mind.

OP THANK YOU for this!

I spoke to DD aged 12 last night....I mentioned his name and she said "Oh I watched him once"

I immediately told her he's a predator and that many people are working to get him off YouTube.

She completely accepted this and promised to never watch him and also to let me know if she comes across any YouTubers with odd or extreme interests or opinions.

He seems to think that his opinions are very important.

He sounds quite unhinged. I just wish he'd keep his nasty comments to himself.

@SarcasmMode Like I said, he's very manipulative. Apparently there was a time where he wanted to start a religion or cult or something as well. I don't think he's a well man.

He creeps me out. No idea why so many are standing up for him to be honest.

He seems a bit unstable to be honest as well as egotistical - why is his opinion so important?

Also YouTube kids isn't fool proof, I've seen posts on here where a posters DC has accidentally stumbled upon something on the kids app which shouldn't have been on there.

It is clear that YouTube don't give a shit so I will carry on being horrified whilst continuing to share any articles/info I may stumble across about him on social media to at least try and inform other parents I know so they can protect their kids from him too.

Onision is vile and most people on YouTube know it. You only have to read back over his history on Wikitubia (a wiki for YouTubers) to see that. Rape (and subsequent insisting that if a woman has had sex with twenty people she "cannot be raped"), dozens of fabricated, serious situations, dragging exes and partners through very public controversies... the mother of one of his exes described him as evil personified.

@itsbetterthanabox YouTube doesn't care. He's making them money, and lots of it. Teenagers have a tendency to overestimate their own judgement over what is safe and what is not, which is why I'm trying to warn their parents.

I'm saying it's better to give practical advice and actually work against the problem rather than just be horrified.
Contact YouTube. Contact his network. Then use YouTube kids when kids are using it. There's a lot of inappropriate for kids stuff on YouTube not just this.
