Does such a system or programme exist?

I write and recently I lost two valuable notebooks. I wondered is there a system whereby I could write on my laptop, iPad or iPhone and save it or update it in the cloud. Or is there a reference I can use to learn how to do this please. X

Google docs/drive or Dropbox or MS OneDrive. These are good options if you want to use a word processing programme (eg Word) and access document everywhere.

If you don't want / need a full word processor, you'll probably find a notes app works better - more designed for mobile use. Try Evernote?

Microsoft One Note is amazing

Yes there are loads.
Notes of your iphone/iPad will sync with your iCloud account for a start.
There's also google drive, one drive, Dropbox.
People will probably have other suggestions or preferences.
