Hi,
I would like to get 2 small stars on my foot, they will be my first tattoo!
I really like the watercolor tattoos but can't see anything I like online, so really looking for some inspiration! Anyone got any they are happy to share?
Thanks!

watercolour does look lovely, i'm informed by my tattooist friend though that you need a bit of size and they don't work so well with small tattoos,

How small were you thinking?

Thanks for sharing @Jasink - good to see that the inks have improved so they last longer now.

Hi,
Here's a great selection of watercolor tattoos - inkedway.com/tattoo-styles/watercolor/
A very beautiful style of tattoos, one of the newest. Looks great on any part of the body.

I have a whole beach sleeve with no outline. Previous posters are correct that fading and blurring can be an issue. I am quite happy to have mine touched up if I need to, you do need to bear this in mind.

Saying that my mum got a watercolour flower tattoo on her foot in her 60s and she loves it.

Watercolour tattoos are beautiful but your feet can be a very sore place to get done. Keep off your feet for a few days after

This would be a nice idea to get a stars tattoo on foot!

OP, to be certain, I wanted to say some in the industry say they don't age well (I'm not sure but may be either fading or not having a firm black lined boundary so spreading over time). I've not seen enough water colour tattoos that have been around for a long enough to have a firm opinion given they tend to be a recent-ish development. It could even be a conservative industry averse to innovation just not like them on principle. I love the abstract water colours and wouldn't worry myself as all tattoos age and spread and fade to some extent anyway, so does the body they sit in (mine more than most) and, let's face it, the world's not short of awful traditional tattoos that weren't good to begin with.

Don't be put off but you'll have to live with it so use your own judgement.

Good luck.

Thank you Zilla1. Good to know they do not age well, that does put me off. I'm 40 so want something small, it took me a while to decide to do it, I was worried i was too old or would change my name. I saw a lovely one, just a thick outline in a nice blue. I will keep looking!

I've not seen a watercolour tattoo of a star that I like, OP. I think water colour tattoos might work better for abstract and complex images.
I'm not sure if the following link works and shows what I intend as it seems glitchy -
www.inkedmag.com/culture/abstract-watercolor-tattoos

I hope you find something that inspires you and an artist who can work well with watercolours. I've found many tattooists tend to be surprisingly conventional (for a sector that seems to pride itself on counter-culture and rebelling) and only want to work within solid lines (water colour tattoos don't age well).
