Do any flat shoes exists which are comfy but not trainers or over-trouser boots????

Aaargh!!!

I'm going mad trying to find some comfy shoes - I never wear tucked in jeans as all my trousers seem to be bootcut, so boots won't work unless they can be worn underneath, and I'm so so sick of wearing trainers all the time as I feel so scruffy!

Can anyone help

oh, is that why my feet smell so bad i just assumed i had developed smelly feet, but yes all i wear are skechers. Oh and i have a really sore foot, which I put down to an unexplained injury. hmmm, time to put skechers away for a while and see how I go I think. An excuse to buy new shoes anyway

My taste's a bit different I think as I don't like any of the suggestions. Hope op has found some she likes.

Skechers are the pits, I got some and the sole sort of collapsed on one side so my foot wasn't straight and my knee was agony after 5 mins walking. I would never, ever buy another pair.

Skechers are nice and comfy yes but they really start to whiff after a bit, no other shoes have done this with me, just skechers [shrug]

skechers, skechers, skechers! incredibly comfy (i have lots all the same style but different colours/patterns) I prefer the ones with the cross over velcro straps. Divine - and cheaper on ebay than anywhere else

And btw bootcut jeans are made for ankle boots. They are very comfy. I have something almost the same as these but with a solid wedge heel, which are not what you are looking for, but are v.comfy, leg-lengthening, ideal for bootcut jeans, warm, and good for when it's raining as a bit platformy. Obviously rather pricey, but have worn them all winter for 3 winters now and still going strong.

I quite like those Mary Janes actually. Must be approaching 40. I still try on my Gina stilettos often before going out, but never actually wear any of them anymore

I just got a pair of these - incredibly comfy and easily fit under boot-cut jeans.

Though having seen everyone else's responses, I'm going to be having a look in Clarks

another Clarks vote

I have shortish block-heeled boots from there and they are fab - bit like jodhpur boots I suppose, but zipped not elastic
much better than ballet flats in this weather and look quite smart
always get brown to wear with jeans though, not black.

another vote for clarkes here, would never have even looked in the window of one 6 months ago, but they have become my favorite shoe shop (ok second favorite, I'll always love faith boots)

V embarrassed to be saying so but Lands End have Mary Janes that are the most comfortable shoes EVER.

I wear these from next but they are a tad narrow and pinch after a while. Need some like them but eeeeeeee fit

I have a few pairs of ballet flats, some converse, and even some black boots from Clarks with a wedge heel but I don't like them very much. My sister says they make me look like I have clubbed feet. I need something that keeps my feet warm & dry but smart. I've tried a cowboy boot style but one lot looked like I was trying to look like Anne Hathaway's character in Brokeback Mountain & the others were so big at the top they stuck out under trousers. I don't want much. Just some nice black shoes or boots. It seems they don't exist.

I wear a lot of the ballet flats from the Next 'Sole Reviver' range. Now, if you type in Sole Reviver to the Next website, most of the things that come up are hideous but I have some lovely grey and black suede bow ballerinas from that range and get lots of complements.

Having had a similar trawl for years, I found a pair of ballerina style shoes in MnS Limited collection, but they had a slight heel, so not totally flat, and a T-bar strap so easier to wear than normal ballerina shoes (which make my feet ache trying to keep them on!). I always get lots of comments when wearing them and they feel v trendy.
But just had a look on the website and they don't do any more, or even anything similar. And I only bought 2 mths ago!

I'm really not keen on any of those but hope the OP has found some here she likes.

Cannot believe I am saying this but I recommend clarks.
Never thought about going in there but went in with a friend and there were loads of nice flat shoes there bought myself a pair and I love them.

Have these in brown from Brantano, rather than Clarkes, and they are the most comfortable casual flats I own, even more so than my converse, as they're very cushioned. Wear them with bootcut jeans. They look better in RL, really!

no they look comfy but it's the mary jane style I don't like

Not sure if these are too casual for what you're after and maybe not to everyone's taste but have you thought about Skechers? I have some similar to this and have worn them to death, with bootcut jeans (no skinnies here either!) www.schuh.co.uk/womens-gold-skechers-bikers-sunkissed/1902382120/
