LOL BodenGroupie

I shall wear my tunic with pride.

I will pretend know that all the looks I am getting are admiring glances rather than "wtf is she wearing" stares

not sure about it. in the plain colours it's a bit bland, and in the print, it's a bit 'trying to be orla kiely, but not succeeding'.

I agree with BA BG- I try not to be too classic- in fact I don't do classic at all. I wear what I always have- or younger- but am careful about colours- (no baby pink or washy pastels for example, though I look good in all shades of teal and turquoise), no droopy calf length skirts, and I avoid at all costs floaty chiffon a la CC Alexon, East, etc.

I am not seriously thinking of buying the tunic folks- I like the colours but the pattern screams at you!

I returned the Bib tunic as it is too long- and not long enough for a dress.

Apart from the fact the pattern is ghastly, unless you are 5 foot 11, size 6 and with 32A boobs, you are going to look fat in it.

That's lovely. I really like it. It does have Boden written all over it, though.

BonsoirAnna made a good point recently about having to not go toooo classic when you get to our age or you just look middle aged!

BodenGroupie and Mrs M,I understand your pain!
Also like Kew,White Stuff,White Company, but pretty much always buy online or Ebay{grin}.
Great Plains can be ok,and have some lovely shrug and cardigans from Phase Eight.
In Marks,I head towards Autograph.

I think that if you are happy with people looking at you and thinking "thats that really bright tunic from boden", then go ahead and get it. It reminds me of those brightly patterened jumpers and dresses from the 60s and 70s.....

Fishie - I'm 5"9 and the long would be long enough for a dress if my knees hadn't recently gone south .

MrsM - couldn't agree more - can't afford Jigsaw, think Kew has got too expensive recently, no White Company shops for miles around, if I knew what "boak" meant I'd probably say it about Per Una.

Love White Stuff, Zara and some Boden. I can't help thinking Johnnie has reeled me in with his discount strategy. I have never paid full price, I just buy twice yearly in the preview then in the sale. I wonder if anyone has ever paid full whack plus postage?

The soundest piece of advice is "you wear the clothes - don't let the clothes wear you"

Like the style but not t he pattern.
Am swapping Merino dress which as I said on the other thread is frumpy, for the brown ruffle tunic.
Am hoping I can wear with thick tights, but may be too short.

Out of interest, Momkeysmama, what would be a "height of fashion" alternative to a tunic? Any suggestions?

IT screams 'BODEN' at you, unfortunately.

BG- I am obsessed- reason being that it is bloody hard for us oldies (50+)to find anything in the shops unless we resort to CC, Kaliko, Alexon, Per Una... and I wouldn't go there!

My wardrobe consists of bits from Boden, Kew, Jigsaw and the occasional top from White Stuff and White Company.

Shopping is hard work when you want to look vaguely fashionable but not mutton as lamb!

Agree about the tunic- it was just a debate really on it.

MrsM, I think you are truly obsessed [takes one to know one emoticon]

Have to be honest, don't like it. I have the pintuck one in red which I'm pleased with.

What would you wear it with? I don't really like Boden usually (though I have the Ibiza kaftan I love) but I do quite like this tunic. It isn't the height of fashion but it's nice.
