Can we have a vote on the Land's End Stadium Squall Coat please?

I need all the usual... warm, waterproof, hood, length, etc. But I am 5ft 4 and size 18/20. Will I look like a sack of spuds in this?

That looks comfy and like it would do its job but it does lack a bit in basic styling, it looks too baggy and long even on the model, talking of barbour , I'm keen on
this one, just not keen on the price.

well I know they are v expensive but check out barbour- they don't just do waxed cotton coats but other material and all are waterproof. Most seem to have some cinching and or belt action.....

You can get fitted coats which are country - proof. I'm a country lass (with dogs to walk in all weathers in the New Forest) myself you know!

It's shapeless and vile. Just because you are size 18/20 doesn't mean you must avoid fitted coats...I think fitted coats (pinched in at the waist etc) always look better, irrespective of whether you are skinny or fuller figured...

i see your point, ceolas. we spend a lot of time outside here, this is the second year of unusually wet weather here AND, especially with the gales, this place is usually much colder than most of England.

fashion is fab, but function is essential.

that's why i went for the extreme squall jacket instead.

an attached hood is a must here.

but this jacket you can still get in colours that go well with most clothes.

I have the same one as Percent has! I look like a sack of shit in it. Blue/lilac shit, but still shit. I have never worn it because it looked so awful and am thinking of returning it as they say you can return things at any time. It is hideous. I am same size as you, but 5'8". Mad old lady was what my DH said as well, and he called me Grandma when I tried it on.
