I’ve just had an email from Space NK to say their 2022 advent calendar is available now! Obviously far too early, normally I ignore Christmas things till Dec, and I can’t afford it anyway, but it looks so much fun! Is anyone buying it? Will anyone share what they though of it?

It’s always a risk you take. The demand isn’t there this year. As far as I know, most of the luxury advents are still in stock.

If I really wanted something, I don’t mind buying it at full price on day 1.

I placed a £100 order with SpaceNK yesterday afternoon. So annoyed! Buying beauty stuff feels increasingly stressful as you try and time the market for the best offers etc.

Little bottles of things just annoy me. I would rather buy the one or two products I really want.
I'm not fundamentally opposed to advent calendars, they are fun - but equally it's so hypocritical of all these firms to make out they're green/sustainable and then create so much waste with all this plastic and cardboard tat.

I agree it’s a risk. But they also have to rely on preorders to make it worth their while. So they aren’t really doing themselves any favours here.

liberty has done something similar, those of us on the beauty box we got a £10 discount on the first few days, i believe this week they're launching an offer where you'll get some cash in vouchers if spent £50. those of us that ordered it early will miss on this offer but at the end it's the risk. there will always be people buying their calendars and if not they wont lose as much as most of the products are sold by them

i guess it's not selling well, at the end it's the risk you want to take, buy it early and risk it going down in price or wait and it selling out. i decided to wait until an offer like this came as i wasnt willing to pay full price for it

Really peeved off they've now knocked it down. This now tells all their loyal customers who pre-ordered not to bother in the future because they’ll get it at a huge discount later on anyway.

I was looking forward to treating myself to a calendar this year but none of them took my fancy. I look at the contents to decide how excited I would be to open each day and there were about 2 days I would have been excited for. Definitely not enough to warrant spending the money on. The small sizes, repeat items (obviously this won’t apply to everyone) and things I definitely won’t use made it a pointless purchase for me. I have no regrets on skipping a calendar this year and I usually get one!
for me I know what I like now, the calendars were great for a few years ago when I was just starting to learn what worked for me, what I needed etc but now I know I just stick to it and don’t piss my skin off with trying too many new things 😂
