HELP! Football, meal, Wembley - too cold, too smart, too far to walk…partial to Vinted bargains…please dress me!

I’m decisive. I always want to be that cool, confident dresser….

So to help me, things you need to know…

Casually smart, but possibly needing to be warm.

Options I already have:

  • a pair of black suede ankle boots, but happy to buy more. Love them with a dress.
  • a royal blue blazer style jacket.
  • a tan leather jacket.

I would love to buy , if I can find something.

My team colours are red, white and black - might be nice to give a nod to this.
( I’m considering red ankle boots, or even shoe)

I am
  • a size 6 in trousers
  • 10 in a dress, 12 if it wraps
  • size 3.5 or 4 in shoes

As I said, partial to a Vinted (or an eBay bargain).

🤞🤞🤞

Thank you.

I've had similar responses in S&B when asking for help with "want to look nice but it's not especially dressy outfits".

I actually find this kind of dressing really difficult. I can do proper dressed up easily enough, well turned out casual I need help with, but the MN response is always " it's nothing special wear what you like ". I don't know what I like that's why I'm asking 😆

I think if you’d mentioned the exact scenario in your OP people would have been less “snippy” (except most people haven’t been remotely snippy).

I’m a bit jealous of you going to Wembley. I haven’t been since 2017.

PS smart comfortable footwear.

Ignore the ignorant snippy remarks you asked for advice, you showed the meal you are going for and still they come. I too have been to Wembly before.
I would wear your blazer just in case it is chilly, a nice shirt, and a good pair of jeans or trousers as shown in the picture above.
Enjoy your day.

Just being pragmatic. It’s football.

Everyone is seriously overthinking this. It’s a football match. Just wear great jeans and a top and something to keep warm in when you see outside. I’ve been to Club Wembley. Most people look fairly ordinary. Wembley is a great experience if you win. If you don’t it’s pants. It’s not The Ritz. You can more of less wear what you want.

Careful. The OP will be saying you're being "snippy"...😉

@superram ‘chicken in a basket’…’not remotely posh’ 😂

Three course meal, bottles of wine on request, hot drinks at half time, tea and cakes before we leave….

Wears my money is a brentford fan so with the stripes you could copy. Except sometimes no club shirts in club Wembley.

Imagine you are going to life of Riley then dress down x 10. London and club Wembley are not remotely posh, it’s chicken in a basket. Wear jeans, a red and white top and a nice jacket. Black ankle boots will be fine, it’s going to be 21 and hazy. I’m sitting in the cheap seats and might wear a red and white shirt dress but with trainers and a jacket.

Do you know if there is a dress code? I think a lot of hospitality sections at clubs don't allow any club "colours", ie football shirts or scarves, but I doubt they stop you wearing eg a blouse with red in it!

I'm envious by the way, I've been to Wembley plenty of times and would love to try out Club Wembley one day.

@nearlyspringyay @skippy67

Why is everyone so snippy on here….I’ve been before, I know the range of outfits. I know what a treat this is and how well we were looked after last time.

I asked for help, in ‘style and beauty’ for ideas of outfits…instead a range of narky responses about ‘how not very special’ this is..

We did this a fair few years ago now, most (including me) just wore jeans or shorts (it was baking) with our football shirts or a tshirt.

You are more likely to look overdressed than underdressed. Jeans, white tshirt and oversized blazer at the most dressy really.

Club Wembley isn't that special, wear whatever you'd normally wear!

Yep!

I've been for the play off finals twice and both times it was sweltering hot, so you need to plan for that too.

I don't think you have to go OTT for Club Wembley, but dress how you feel good. I haven't seen the weather for next weekend, but you'll be travelling a long way, so yes, as PP said, go for light layers that can fold up in your bag and comfort.

How are you travelling? are you staying over?

Most of all, good luck.
