Another “find me a dress” Thread I’m afraid

I fancy buying myself a treat and I can justify a nice comfortable and cool summer dress as I’ll be WFH for the forceable future. I just can’t seem to find a dress that makes me excited. Can you help me? Budget up to £75

Here are some details about me and what I like:
I am 5 foot 6 and a size 10 in shops like whistles or Hush. I have small boobs, a bit of a mum tum and not great knees. But I do have a slim face, neck and collar bones. I gravitate towards oversized things that I can get way with because of my seemingly slimmer upper top half (but somehow I’m not a pear).
I have recently developed a love of bold and bright (cool toned) colours but I usually don’t like twee or floral. I do like animal print.
A recent successful purchase for me is the Hush Penelope dress in pink but I don’t want to just buy it again in kaki.
I’d like a dress that I can wear on work zoom calls but then also stroll around town after. I don’t have to look office smart but I think sleeveless/strappy or low cut is out.

I dress to stand out more than fit in and I love trainers or sliders with dresses.

I keep re-reading my post and can’t find a better way to describe my ‘style’ but I fully acknowledge I sound like a pretentious idiot. If you can get over this fact please can you suggest a dress for me? It would be great if it was something that could transition to autumn with a leather jacket.

Thank you!

There's 40% off isn't there?

It's really lovely, and has pockets.

Yes @nevergooogle it’s now £111 but that’s just shy of 50% more than my budget. It may well be 50% nicer than I’d hoped for but I’m weighing it up in my head and running through my wardrobe working out what I can wear with it. The last think I need is an excuse to buy another shoe/jacket/accessory 🤣
(And I had clocked the pockets!!)

I have the same mum tum issue and can’t wear belted either, which is hard at the moment because so many dresses have them. Whenever I cave and buy one, I always end up regretting it because they are so unflattering on me.

I’ve had my eye on this one. I love the back.

@venus I’ve seen that too but I know that knot will dig in when I throw myself on the sofa towards the end of the day

This Monsoon dress gives me vibes of the Penelope from Hush and is really cheap. Definitely doesn’t need that belt they’ve styled it with on one of the pictures though

The Boden Amelie dress is very flattering for all shapes and sizes, very easy to wear, dress up with a blazer, down with denim jacket. It comes in lots of colours and patterns.
I’ve got 3 but this is my favourite atm.
It looks lovely with a white blazer, although I’ve not yet been able to go anywhere to wear it. Hopefully, will be able to soon.

I love the Never Fully Dress one you linked to OP. It's currently 'in my basket'

That's the danger with these threads. :)

I don't think you should buy that fifty5a one OP.

Firstly it's satin (which isn't very daytime imo and personally I never enjoy wearing) and I also think it's quite similar to the Hush dress you already have eg pink and animal print.

I do like that Paisie dress

@nanbread you are right! I’ve decided against it.

So having been seduced by some very beautiful dress recommendations (thank you all) but being appropriately brought back to reality by @nanbread I went back to the Arket sale and I’ve bought this: www.arket.com/en_gbp/women/dresses/product.long-t-shirt-dress-orange.0631404006.html
It’s not fancy but hopefully the colour is the cool toned orange I think it is. I feel like I can accessorise it (big gold earings etc) and it will be comfy and cool for working.... I think I’d lost sight of my original post!
Thank you all for your recommendations it is very much appreciated.
And I’ve clocked the “Swedish Architect” spin off thread inspired by @YoureBreakingMyHeartCecilia 🤣

I really like that and can see it working with big gold earrings and trainers or slides

@thinkle check out backofthewardeobe’s IG stories today, she has this dress and is contemplating snipping off the bottom. Colour looks lovely

Ooooh I love that orange dress OP - might have to buy. I'd wear with metalic leather slides and gold hoop earrings.
