The Ordinary Caffeine Solution

I have puffy bags under my eyes, even more so when I smile so very obvious in photos. I drink a lot and get enough sleep.

I’ve ordered The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% after seeing some good reviews.

However I’ve just read a few more and people have complained about burning sensations under the eyes where it is applied.

Most say to apply an eye cream as it dries your skin out but others say the two products may react.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I’ve used it for a few years now and wouldn’t be without it. I feel it makes a massive difference to my puffy eyes. It doesn’t work every single day - after drinking I can still get puffy eyes - but it generally does work and I have ever gone without i can tell. No adverse reactions for me.

@Betty45 I think too much product causes bags too.

I haven’t experienced any burning at all, but I also did not notice a visible difference in my eye bags :( Guess I’ve got permanent ones.

Hi, I just wanted to put this out there for anyone suffering with puffiness under their eyes. I've had it under one eye mainly for over a year. I've tried everything from creams, facials, rollers, taking anti allergy tablets to getting an eye test, with no luck. It has been really getting me down and it's all I'd focused on when I looked in the mirror.
I recently read an article about products causing puffiness. I do tend to pile it all on..I use a serum then a moisturizer and then a sun cream. For the past week or so, I've stopped applying them quite so close to my eyes and it already seems to have reduced the puffiness.
I hope this perhaps helps someone else x

I've been using it every morning for several months on it's own. It definitely reduces puffiness and is especially useful after crying. I feel like it has reduced my dark circles as well but not by loads. I really like it and still have half a bottle left after using it daily for about 5 months so it's great value.

Derxa11 I layer the the HA serum and vitamin C serum. I use the vitamin c serum every other day, the caffeine solution I only use around my eyes.

I had no side-effects.... but sad to report that I had no effects at all. I used it for months.

I haven't found it to be drying or to burn. It didn't do anything for me but it was my mistake. I was looking for something for dark circles, not puffiness.

@troppibambina do you use all those serums layered or on different areas?

Ok so some positive reviews and no ill effects. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. It wasn’t expensive and at least I’ve tried.

The puffiness is my main issue so I’m hoping it helps reduce that.

It has no lasting effects, I don't really see any difference when I use it. A bit pointless I think, to be honest.

I've used it daily for months and never had an issue. I really like it. I don't use a separate eye cream either, just the NMF + HA moisturiser.

I use it in the morning.
I cleanse
HA serum
Vit c serum
Caffeine solution
Moisturise
Sunscreen
I don't use a separate eye cream but I've never had a problem, I really like it.

It has soy extract in it, which is a common allergen, that might be what's causing problems for people. I didn't even bother to try it when I read the ingredients because I know that soy makes my skin sore.

I've used it but not every day, just when I've woken up with really puffy eyes, also after crying. Haven't found it to burn or sting, do think it would be a bit drying if used every day. Has an immediate tightening effect.

Following with interest as I've just bought this! So I've been using for about 3 days. I've been using in conjunction with L'Oréal eye cream and no issues with interaction. Keen to hear about results though! It could be a placebo effect but I do think under eyes look "brighter"
