Really nice make up brushes

Can anyone recommend some?
I am struggling to think of a present for my dsis, and think this might be something she would appreciate. But because I don't wear a huge amount of make-up, I am worried I will get it wrong and there would be no point giving her a set which is worse than something she would buy for herself.

You know the kind of present which is something some-one would use every day, but is better than they would buy for themselves? That's what I'm going for!

She is mid 20s and normally wears professional looking make-up, and is not into selfie contouring etc if that makes a difference to the kind of brush. (I don't know if it does, I am really clueless!)

Budget wise, I could go up to £30 max if that's what is needed to get good quality brushes but would prefer them to be below £20. She probably doesn't need a very big set of brushes - a smaller but better quality selection would be better than a large number of cheaper brushes, I think.

Would really appreciate any help/recommendations you can give me at all!

It's a bit of a faff for a one off gift but if you join Beauty Pie (£10 pcm for a minimum of 3 months) you can get some great products.

Their brush sets come in at £17 or £30 and should cost significantly more.

A good site for other beauty gifts too, to make the membership fee worthwhile.

For your price range I’d say real techniques are a good choice. I’ve just bought my DS a set from Superdrug which is down from £65 to £30 if you’re a member? If not you can buy individual brushes/sets in SD or Boots... I’ve had this brand of brushes amongst others for years and they last and perform well!

You won't get anything great with that budget unfortunately but agree with PP that advised looking out for Black Friday or sale offers on Real Techniques as they aren't bad at all.

Morphe and Juvia’s Place are great quality brushes. A lot of professionals use Morphe. The Rose set is a good basic set. They’re 30% off on Beauty Bay just now with free delivery.

I’ve got a couple of EcoTools ones which have been excellent. Also, the Real Techniques. I have two Bobbi Brown ones and both are utter shite. Always shedding and I spend the day trying to pick short black hairs off my face. They cost a fortune so, I refuse to bin them.

All the MUAs I use, use Morphe brushes and they’re actually on offer on beautybay at the minute.

Primark....yep! Ps pro oval blending brushes are fab. They don't look cheap, but they are, and I've found them better than anything else I've tried. Other than that I've bought eco....ok and brushes from Bare minerals which have lasted and don't shed.

I had to go out earlier, and sadly the Morphe Rose set had sold out before I had a chnce to read your responses! A shame because it would have been perfect; gifty looking and affordable.

It seems sort of too cheap to be good, iyswim - unless that is a particularly good deal?

The Real Techniques look good too, but a lot of the good sets seem to packaged as "selfie ready" which might put my dsis off them a bit (I know that sounds a bit shallow). I'll look into them further.

Otherwise I'll look at the Ecotools or Juvia's place.
