Sore and unsightly hormonal chin skin

Any advice on what I can use?

My hormonal skin has returned now my 9 month old son has reduced the amount he's feeding from me. I think my periods are about to return.

I get very dry, bumpy skin patches around my chin/sides of my mouth, and then big horrible sore spots bubble up under the skin. They never come to a head.

At the moment I wash my face with Simple facewash and use LRP Spf50. I use No 7 tinted BB cream, and Micellar water to cleanse.

I have this too, 'recovering' from one at the moment. Skin looks dreadful as it heals up. I was prescribed anti-biotics and once they kicked in they were fab and my skin was clear for months but after the 6 month course, they came back again.

Defo see gp. Sounds like cystic acne ( painful lumps under skin that rarely come to a head). You could try differin which is a type of retinoid that prevents acne.

I was recommended this La Roche product on here. It worked brilliantly for me, cleared my skin up really quickly.

Thanks all. Will get the vits and try hydrocortisone. That cream from the dr sounds great, will see if it clears up and if not go and see the dr.

I had this too, I was prescribed zineryt (a topical antibiotic and zinc) from my Gp and the difference is amazing Smile

Have posted about this a couple of times: I had exactly the problem you describe - big, shiny red painful spots that you can't do anything about and that take ages to go. I started taking Boots vitamins for hair, skin and nails and after a few weeks, I noticed that I hadn't had any chin spots at all. I was amazed - I hadn't started the vits thinking that would happen, I just thought I should take vits to be more healthy. Worth a try?

I always pop a tiny bit of hydrocortisone cream on spots and lumps and bumps. Even ingrowing hairs. It's always helped and I've had no adverse reactions. Before anyone blasts me for it a friend had very bad sunburn in her face and the doctor prescribed it for her so it's not always a bad thing.

I have exactly the same problem - I had my implant out last month and think that it may be a contributing factor.

I read online about hydrocortisone cream for when the spots are very angry tried it last night and made a big improvement but this is not endorsed by doctors and can cause skin problems

I don't use any products on my face and I use mineral makeup to reduce chemicals but I still and covered in mini Etna's and Vesuvius'!
