Help me decide - do I want an angled lob?

Pretty much what it says on the tin. Mid 30's, always had long hair.

I keep looking at pictures of cool Pinterest people with angled lobs. I fancy one but I am definitely not cool or Pinterest worthy.

I've currently got long, thick hair. It's mostly worn pulled back in a bun or plait. I long to look groomed and sophisticated and stylish. I'm not particularly amazing at hair styling but could probably manage running the straighteners through/sticking rollers in daily given how much time I'd probably save on drying it.

So, to chop or not?

Also are angled lobs about to stop being cool the moment I actually commit to getting one?

Well now I'm more confused.

WinBigly - that's my exact hair type! So it might work.

But everyone else is suggesting it would be an irritating mess.

Hum. I suppose hair grows

I started with a lob and it got shorter and shorter.
It's now at out grown bob.
It takes a bit of maintenance and regular trims.

Unless you straighten it if your hair is as thick as mine you'll end up with a triangle and it's bloody irritating because you can't tie it up!

I had my long hair cut into a long angled bob about three years ago.

It was great at first but i then found it irritating as the ends would get stuck in shirt/coat colars and it would take so much styling to get it straight or wavy.

Ive grown it again now but i did get lots of compliments from other wonen. Men didnt like it! Grin

I have one, it's quite understated though, only an inch or so difference from front to back. I don't find it too hard to maintain but I have dead straight hair, so a quick comb after washing and it's ok to go. I do need it thinned out regularly though, or I get a triangle head... On the upside, having longer pieces at the front means you can do fancy twists and braids when it's due for a chop. Wink

They drift in and out of fashion. I had one years ago and loved it, not high maintenance at all for me but it depends on your hair type. My hair is quite thick with a bit of a wave to it; I'd straighten it during the warm weather and scrunch it into loose curls during wet/damp weather.

They are a very definite look. If you have the kind of look that suits wearing converse trainers, boyfriend jeans (rolled up) and a casual top, then yes.

They also look like extremely high maintenance to look so casually unstyled.

but they will probably go out of fashion the moment you commit to one.

i would not mess with the natural shape of your lob
