Mini Biden Sizing? And some other kids shops!

I'm wondering what the sizing is like in mini Boden? Thinking of ordering some stuff for my fairly petite just 3 year old (3rd centile weight, 25th height). Also thinking of 1/2 things from petit bateau- same question there?

For reference she mostly wears Zara and Gap clothes (as that's all we can get to fit well normally) but the 2-3 stuff is getting short and the 3-4 are just too big hence looking elsewhere. M+S she fits into 18-24months but everything is too short, ditto Next and JL own brand. We also buy quite a lot online from the willow range in dunnes stores which fits nicely in 2-3 (a little loose but not bad) but their online range is small. I bought a beautiful dress from frugi in 2-3 but it was absolutely massive on her but just the right length.

Was also thinking Vertbaudet for day to day nursery clothes(which come home destroyed so don't want to spend much on them!)

Any ideas about sizing would be great (and suggestions for brands that suit small preschoolers too).

Boden dresses come up short so I got my 5yr dd a 6 year old one that comes to just below her knee.

I find Boden to be generally quite big and my little 2yo girl is a chunk! 90th% weight and 75th% height. Randomly the leggings come up small though.

Vertbaudet might be the best bet for you as it comes up small I find. They also have some nice trousers that they do in 3 waist fittings.

It also depends on the item, dd is very slim waisted and mini Borden jeans fit really well with the waist adjusted, whereas others don't adjust enough. Joules have big waists for example and m&s are for mini elephants I think ( no offence to anyone who's child they fit).

Pants are another really good fit and most dresses, I have only found a few a bit boxy but that's possible anywhere. Dd is nearly 10 and has probably had 90% Boden since she was about 3. ( none full price I hasten to add)

Thanks nearly - I don't mind going down sizes at all, just always run into the too wide and too short problem!

I find mini Boden about right but my daughter is fairly average for her age height/weight etc. If you're in the U.K. Boden nearly always have free delivery and returns so I always order multiple styles, sizes, colours etc and then just return half of it. Returns are also very quick generally less than a week.

I find Mini Boden to be massive but my kids are either average or small. DS is 5 and 30th centile for height and 50th for weight. I just bought the carpenter jeans (size 5) for him and I'm going to have to get them taken up by a good 5-6 inches.

Petit Bateau is very small sizing - my 4 month old is v petite (9th centile eight, 90th centile height) and most 0-3 month clothes still drown her but Petit Bateau fits perfectly. It's skinny in the body and legs.

Mini Boden is massive. I bought a 3-6 month cardigan for DD and it clearly won't fit her until she's about 1!!

I haven't tried Matalan clothes for DD apart from vests but I was in there the other day and noticed that they had some lovely stuff once you ignored all the 'pretty princess' and 'mummy's little star' horrors.

With Boden I find its best to try and read the reviews to gauge the sizing on each item. But for the record, my 8yr old is 9th centile for height and weight and mostly wears Boden age 7-8 that fit perfectly.

Ah I see...I do like Verbaudet but at full price they are not what I would of called nursery clothes.

I have a boybut he was always very small for his age and narrow. slim waist shoulders etc. Sainsburys were always a good fit for him. We always seem to be running at at least a year if not two smaller than his age

Bounce I've tried frugi in 2-3 and it's enormous width wise but barely long enough so I think 18-24 would be too short.

Free I haven't actually looked in mothercare in ages, I used to find them quite big but perhaps worth another look. Sainsbury's are enormous on her too but short, I've tried there. She's got very narrow shoulders which I think is part of the issue.

Frugi runs a bit large imo but have you tried that brand for DD and sizing down?

Biden is wide. Dresses and cardis are okay but leggings and trousers comedy on my skinny DTs.

Gap pretty good, petit bateau slim but v ££££ even in the sale. Sainsburys is not. As but you have to be picky about fabrics/style.

Jojo and John Lewis are enormous. M&s are okay but again have to be choosy.

Mithercare are not bad for everyday nursery stuff. Nice little jersey dresses.

Zoe I might take a look at petit bateau so. They are quite expensive but for a few weekend things I wouldn't mind.

Old I've just been looking online and they have lots of little dresses etc for £8 + online discount code so not too bad.

So mixed opinions on Boden! I find it hard as the online size guides for all these places state they are essentially the same but they are totally different in reality! Might order a few things and return if needs be I suppose.

Sweet I find the Jojo stuff is still too wide. They used to do lovely slim leg trousers with adjustable waists but not anymore. And find dresses quite wide on the shoulders.

She's a little over 11kg with size 4.5 feet so is fairly petite.

Yes, as a PP said boden dungarees come up wide but I find them too short on DD after washing. Same with their dresses - perfect fit but too short on a lot of them.

I find mini Boden and Vertbaudet come up a bit small. Plus I think with the latter the sizing is up to that age group rather than beyond e.h 2 yrs would be up to 2 yrs, so for an 18 month old, rather than 2 yrs +

Mini boden is big.

Petit bateau is absolutely tiny. I get a lot of it unworn second hand, presumably because parents were saving it for the specified ages, by which time it was too small. Age 6 PB is currently too small for my 4yo and only slightly large in my 2yo.

I find Mini Boden comes up small! DD had an age 7 T shirt at 3 for example.

Boden is very hit and miss size wise. My 6 year old still wears her age 4 fleece but the skorts come up v small. I bought dd1 some dungarees that are massively wide. I find it shrinks a bit (like M&S) which makes sizing even harder.

My petite 3y3m old fits the age 3 (or 2-3) Boden stuff perfectly. Next size up is roomy - I've found it ok in tops and she can just about get away with dresses without looking like she's drowning but trousers are enormous

I find Boden quite short in length but fairly wide. I've got a 2.5 yr old that is in size 3-4 for length but unless style says slim fit everything is baggy on him!
Jojo maman stuff is quite small made/ slim fitting although expensive.

Where do you live that Vertbaudet is not much to spend ?
