Also, Avarnlady, the Michael Kors skater dress my sister in law has one. It's exactly the same. I'm not sure she has even worn it. I could ask if she wants to sell if you are interested? It's not the one that Ellen wore in the show thou just so you are aware... Jo

Hi, sorry for delay....
Shimmery top was an old one from oasis. They have newer versions in right now.
Blue grey check shirt was warehouse.
I've looked thru my paperwork but sorry I can't tell you what the name of Ellen's bomber was from all saints.

JoSlater If you're still here, where was Ellen's bluey-grey checked shirt from in the final episode?

Ilovecherries that's amazing!!!!!
I LOVE that you've done that. Imagine the money we would all save if we tailored our clothes and got more wear out of them. Good for you 👏🏻👏🏻

On the back of Jo's advice I took a bag of fairly ordinary clothes to the dressmaker. Picked up the first few things this afternoon, and I'm astounded at the transformation. I've had nothing radical done - two darts in the back of a blazer and the sleeves shortened to wrist length, long sleeves on a dress changed to 3/4 length, a cm off a pair of trousers. She still has to take the zip out of a jacket and make it edge to edge; and put a three inch wide insert into the waist of a tunic to make it the right length (she felt it would work better in the middle rather than added to the bottom). It's really not been that expensive, and the clothes suddenly look a bit 'made for me' rather than dragged off a rack. I'm impressed!

Floisme...yes, I felt done by the last episode...lots of holes. Thought it was me being dense...but apparently not. Was almost as if the writer didn't know where to go with it or what to do. Up until than it was fantastic though, plot wise...and always fantastic clothes and location wise, had me drooling!

Thanks cherrypie, you never really know until you try it on. Looking forward to the delivery!

I enjoyed it up until the last episode which I thought was was a bag of shite and made me wonder if the writer had been sent away to re-do it in their lunch hour. I only kept watching for the clothes which were great.

Hi,
Ah, I understand now which skirt you are referring to. It was actually a dress. It was a heavy knitted number from House of Fraser in Glasgow. I think it was Michael Kors.
I got the metallic boots and shoes from Dune and they have got their new range in right now! They do metallics every year.
I'm mortified to admit I can't remember where I got Paula's navy jacket from!?!? If it comes to me I'll get back to you.
No! She wasn't shagging Dougray. The final scene was meant to imply that perhaps the timing was right for them to give it a go. A year was supposed to have passed. Xxx

I spied this denim kimono jacket in COS today which reminded me of this thread. I think the one on the show was ASOS --and prob cheaper than this one--www.cosstores.com/gb/Women/Coats_Jackets/Denim_kimono_blazer/46891-60598886.1#c-22755#Rel?PC=

I think both coats look lovely!

None of this 'old fashioned' nonsense! What does that even mean?!! Confused

Cherrypie32 · 17/03/2017 12:26

Missus, I'm large chested and it's very flattering on me, the shawl collar of the original would add bulk to me. I'll try not to look too 'old fashioned' in my coat today with my skinny jeans and Superga Hmm

febel · 17/03/2017 12:16

I think the Zara coat...for my style...looks more old fashioned than the Sainsburys one...think the piping/edging is a negative for me...but each to their own...wish I could get hold of the original one in the series though as it's ace!

Apparently according to the very knowledgeable makeup FB group I'm on the lipstick (that you see Paula applying) is the brand Kiko. Not sure if the colour though.

The Zara blue and white jacket was referred to earlier.

Does anyone have it /recommend it?

Thanks

Yes, I think the neckline might be unflattering on me as I'm larger of chest! Will see what it's like on.

so was she shagging Dougray or not?
