Please help... I'm losing my hair 😓

I'm not even 35 and noticed hair was thing slightly on one temple since Iv had the DC. Iv just noticed on the crown (flipping typical) I'm losing my hair, there's a bald spot which isn't being hidden by the hair that's there.... Iv always looked after my hair, heat protect it, deep condition each week etc. My hair is long, I can only cover it by annoying up dos I don't like. I'm going through a lot of stress and I'm taking that has made it this bad.... What can I do to bring it back?! My hair is my 'crowning glory' so to speak. I love my long hair 😓

My eyelids are very dry although not sure that's relevant!

Caroline Hirons beauty blogger had success with a 'course' of 50mg of zinc per day. I don't know how long a course is but I'm about to start one. I got my iron levels etc back up to a good level and even after a year at these levels it made no difference to my hair thinning😥
Thyroid levels were always normal. I'm willing to try with anything

I've lost loads over the past couple of years due to stress, surgeries and being ridiculously anaemic. Going from bra strap length to chin length helped it look thicker. I found it so upsetting.

That's the thing though isn't it..... I have nice hair (it's also long) and my only 'treat' going to the hairdressers and now this. I know I should be greatful I'm not bald.... But it's so worrying and I can't even hide it. If the hair was just thin all over I could cope but this is a patch Sad

My right side at the front is incredibly thin and looks worse when tied up. I've cried so many times in the shower over it. My hair was my favourite thing too.

Not yet, no.

I have a history of very very dry skin (that seems to dry on contact with air).
Low iron (given iron tabs by GP but cant tolerate. Take Floradix but it's not enough)

While at the Opticians last year a perky 16 year old told me my 'eyelids were crumbling'. She is lucky I am not a violent person, but I came home feeling very very flat.

I had very full waist length hair for years. It started to fall out after IVF and 2 children. Clumps come out when I wash it. Sad
I am overweight and GP attributes EVERYTHING to this.

"she is lucky I am not a violent person..."

Crap. that sounds awful! I didn't mean it like 'that'.

I just meant I felt violently upset.

She was young and not yet very good at being diplomatic.

Not a punchable offence! Grin

I understand what you mean daily!!! After I had DC (2 years between them) my hair thinned at the temples and I used that caffeine shampoo and it definitely helped and I had baby hair grow quite quick! I'm going to speak to gp later but sure she will say nothing she can do... I'm taking the supplements now and Iv got some regain for women..... Will see how that goes. The main ingredient in it is what is recommend on the nhs website ....

when did you have your last DC?

mine did this periodically after I had my DC. Please try to de stress. That is the most important thing. You can take all the supplements you want but the stress and hormonal fluctuation will carry on. So try to address that by looking after yourself and dealing with the issues causing stress. If you feel like you are tackling it you may feel more in control and therefore less stressed out if that makes sense?

Mine fell out all over so although I didn't have patches, when I washed/brushed it the amount that came out was frightening. It has all settled down. I look after myself, what I eat, exercise etc. It will take a few months but you will notice new growth in your hairline.

Like you my blood results didn't point to anything in particular.

Youngest is coming up 8 so not related to that. Am on cerazette but have been for 10+ years so again can't blame coming off/on the pill .

I'm trying hard to de stress but as a single parent (going through a second seperation) dealing with dc1s special needs I'm struggling.

When I had bald patches after having DD, I had PRP on my scalp (the vampire facial). I was sceptical about it, but the hair had started to grow back within a week. I was so impressed. Don't know if it would solve any underlying problem (mine was post baby hormone related) but made a massive difference to mine almost immediately.

Prp?? Never heard of that! Do you have any information on it or a link?

It's Platelet Rich Plasma therapy. Will look for a link.

I had it done by a friend who is a cosmetic aesthetician (a trained doc, now does cosmetic medical stuff).

It was bloody painful, and sounds a bit horrific, but it's chemical free, just uses your own blood.

So my ferriton whatever it's called was 59 and she said they accept anywhere between 13 and 140 or something. Everything else was fine?

She said it could be stress otherwise probably alopecia but that I have to go to see her for her to obviously have a look. Couldn't recommend anything me to do in the mean time? Anyone any experience on ferriton levels?

I have female pattern baldness.

Philip Kingsley trichology clinic has reversed the hair loss so that it's nearly back to where I was in my early 30s, and the treatment did this in less than a year.

Expect an appointment, blood tests, and then a prescription (hormone drops - hormones in trace amounts). You do not need to buy any of their other products, which will enhance, but will not do what the hormone drops do, which is to protect the follicles from testosterone and encourage regrowth of ones that have become inactive.

If it's not ferritin, then it's usually FPB, OP.

I think I'm going to try the regaine first.... Going to have to wear my hair up all the time for now and I hate wearing it up!

My hair thinned to about 60% of what I had. My scalp was showing through horribly, especially on top.

FPB = Female Pattern Baldness.

Have u seen your thyroid results? A healthy TSH is 2.5 or under. My ferritin is within range but I have lost a huge amount of hair as my thyroid is underactive.

Hmm. GP didn't even mention that ms. Just said alopecia or stress.

I'm praying stress. As I said in op life is very stressful at home, going through another seperation etc
