We planned ours in March, married on 2nd June. No hanging about!

We got married abroad so it was booked 18 months in advance. This was to get the child free places etc

It cost £4,400 for ten people , a week in a four star hotel with half board in Tenerife.

The ceremony, cake, flowers, musician, reception and drinks for 25 people came in at under £1000

Bargain!

So you're still young ;-)

Go for it. The world is your oyster.

I got married last year for the second time aged 63 . I initially bought a stunning long white dress. It was fabulous...just not on me. I just didn't feel it suited me. It was the style ...nothing else.

3 weeks later I went for a short, knee length white dress . I felt more glamorous, more put together.

So you're young, slim, try lots and lots of colours and styles. Now is the time as the sales are on.
My dress was £39 down from £140.

Saw a wedding recently where all the children walked down the aisle with the bride. Looked so lovely.

We got married at the end of July and booked things about September last year.

We had a blessing in church (Holy Trinity Cathedral, Gibraltar) but married in the botanical gardens.

I didn't get married in church the second time.

I agree with the comment a out being more unconventional second time around,I got married at 40 and wore a fabulous scarlet satin corseted princess dress even though we had a very small do. I had done the whole white traditional bride at 20 and absolutely hated it,this was what I always wanted to wear. My Dm was utterly horrified when I told her but she saw it she cried and said it was much better than the white dress !! Point is wear what YOU want and feel fabulous !!

PedantPending it's up to the vicars discretion whether they marry divorcees or not (in Church of England at any rate; I don't know about other denominations).

My DH and I asked the vicar of our local church whether he'd be happy to marry us (both divorced) and he was.

I wore a little red cocktail dress for my second wedding. Great in theory, but a really unflattering cut and so while at my first wedding I looked like a fat child bride, in my second wedding I looked like a older-mother-second-trimester bride.
Agree you should just wear whatever will make you feel great - if you want white, go for white.

How come so many of you could have second marriages in Church?

I'm happily married but occasionally fantasize about what I would wear for a second wedding....

I got married a few months ago at 48. I wore the Pearly Queen from Kitty and Dulcie. They are lovely dresses and all under £400.

I was 51 and wore a long ivory Charlotte Balbier dress (£90 unworn from ebay but £1200 to buy new). Looked much better than I did in the meringue 25 years before - and enjoyed the wedding much more. Much more chilled.

I lost my dad a few years before so my brother walked me down the aisle. He'd just had a knee op so if he couldn't make it my daughter was going to do it. My other plan was we (me and DH) would just walk down the aisle together which would have been cool, I think. if a step too far for MIL

Have the loveliest day.

I got married for the second time at age 47 and I wore this dress that my sister had bought from a charity shop for £10. I then had it altered and dry cleaned for £40. I absolutely loved it and felt lovely in it. We had a big party in the garden with a band and a hog roast. It was one of my best days ever!!

Rosewine - thank you. And yes, she's our little girl, she's 7 now. We had the most amazing day. A very small gathering of 26 people (a few more turned up at the church), and we all sat around one big table at the hotel for a late wedding breakfast. I got married in a register office for my first wedding (that was before you could marry in a nice venue) and I really regretted listening to my ex and not having a 'full' wedding event with a nice dress, flowers and a car. Just because you've married before, that doesn't mean you should tone it down (second wedding are common these days). You're still young, so wear what will make you happy and it will shine through on the day.

I wore a simple floor length dress from ghost and I felt so elegant and sophisticated in! I loved my first time around dress but this a far more relaxed look.

Congratulations. I wore this two years ago for my second wedding at 44 years old. Wear what you want to wear, there's no right or wrong.

I am twice married. The second time I didn't want a 'proper' wedding dress as I'd had that the first time, but in the end I fell in love with a strapless, pearl bodiced, tulle, princess dress! The only unusual thing about it was that it was tea length. I wore it and felt amazing.

I say where whatever the hell you want, regardless of age or the fact that it's your second time. I felt like I should play down my second wedding at first, but in the end it was much more of an event than the first and I loved every minute. Congratulations!
