They are completely different to anything I would have chosen myself. They fit. They even look elegant on the model on the website . But i don't know if I can pull it off. Obviously I said thank you. Now what? What would I wear it with?

None. I think you need an off white / ecru fitted vest top. Anything remotely baggy won't work with the bagginess of the skirt IMO.

ClassicMonkey · 30/06/2016 04:11

Second (with a different bra 😉) amd third but tucked in rather than out

burnishedsilver · 30/06/2016 08:40

I think it needs a fairly tightly fitted tee shirt, probably in white but maybe in grey. Are they the shoes he bought to go with it? I'd put totally flat sandals with it.

Thank you all! Didn't manage to find a grey one, that would have been my first choice over black. Was hard enough to to find a black one! None of the off white ones I saw (in the great shopping arena that is my town) seemed the right shade or they had flowers or something on them. Underwear has been dug out of the moving boxes and should be invisible!

What to wear with it on the way to the restaurant, is a black cardigan ok?

You need a simple plain white vest in my opinion .

imjessie · 30/06/2016 20:45

Posted too soon,... To make it look stylish . The first too is too formal . I would wear it with a simple white vest and a denim jacket and tan flat sandals .

imjessie · 30/06/2016 20:47

Is anything the 3 rd black one is best but with flats Sandals and are in jacket .

imjessie · 30/06/2016 20:47

Argh ! Denim .. I also think it should skin the floor hence the flat sandals . The length with the shoes is a bit frumpy.

Mandelinka · 30/06/2016 20:49

•I liked the 3rd top, you have a lovely waist so the fitted top looks the best.
• As somebody suggested, 2nd top ok, but tucked loosely in.
•Also gray/khaki/dusky rose colour would compliment the skirt better
•wide belt to accentuate your lovely waist
• different shoes, again lighter in colour, flats, sandals, white converse?

Ringadingdingdong22 · 30/06/2016 20:50

Third top is the best out of the three. I also agree that it would look better with strappy flat sandals. The skirt should skim the tops of your feet. The length with those shoes doesn't look quite right.

WipsGlitter · 30/06/2016 21:06

Shoes are a bit heavy.

Grecian sandal / silver sandal would be better. Delicate.

DisdressedDolphin · 30/06/2016 21:11

I have these in bright orange, these in black and the closest I can find to mine, which are a couple of years old, these in bright blue/purple alternating stripes.

Maybe a silver version for evening / smarter occasions.

Ringadingdingdong22 · 30/06/2016 21:47

I have these which look good with maxi skirts. They're sold out but gives you an idea m2.hm.com/m/en_gb/productpage.0374757001.html

That link doesn't work for me Ring. I shall bear the suggestions in mind for the future. But for now, the ones I linked are the ones I have. There are two shoe shops in our town, one only stocks up to 41 and the other will order in only if I can be reasonably certain I will buy it, so no chance to go looking unfortunately. Sigh. The curse of clown feet :(
