What do you wear?? I need to be practical I have 2 boys!! I am not a trainer person, and find flat ballet pumps just not up to the job! Last year I wore bronze loafers which I love, but was wondering what other people wear??

If its too cold for sandals or I'm going to walking a lot then I wear converse lite - they're less clompy than normal converse and I find them more comfy too.

Some flat shoes are lovely in the summer - especially pointed or peeptoe flats.

I would suggest paying a little more for good quality shoes if you can afford it (rather than £6 Primark flats!) as they will definitely be more robust.

I also have these. They are rubber which is odd but extremely comfortable and don't make my feet sweat.

Converse with jeans/shorts or more structured skirts i.e. denim. Birkenstocks with pretty much everything if it's warm!

I love the saltwater sandals but I look silly in them.

TOMS all the way. I only buy those for summer and it feels like I'm wearing nothing on my feet!!!!

I've never managed to make lace-up or high fronted shoes work with skirts or dresses, unless I'm wearing thick black tights.

There are lots of nice Dune Sandals on the John Lewis site - everything from flats to very high heels.

Following with interest. I have the Camper ones but although they are light, I couldn't imagine wearing them with a dress, they really are quite dark and wintery.

I think the mary janes linked are very frumpy, although admittedly they are practical. They tend to make (my) calves look even bigger than they actually are.

I wore Clarks' brogues last year (when I wasn't wearing converse) and thought they looked quite smart.

I have these in two colours, but can't decide yet if I'm keeping them. I have the more 'bondage' version with lots of straps from a few years ago, and they are very comfy.

I always think flat shoes need to look 'intentional' - ie: "I'm wearing these shoes because I love them and they look great", which is so much better than an apologetic, frumpy "this is the only thing I can walk in" style.

If you know what I mean. Of course it all depends on your personal opinion of style and frumpy-ness though !!!!

I think low wedges border in being a bit frumpy sorry

Report
Swifey · 10/03/2016 07:47

Are low wedges a good idea too? The trouble is some of the totally flat shoes, and especially the ones with buckles and laces are quite frumpy, and that's not what I'm looking for! Grin
