Lurked and posted on numerous Superdrug bargainous threads and now am near one for the last time until August.... I've bought:
Vit E hotcloth (don't like the radiance one but thought would try this)
Vit E balm thing
Vit E and manuka body cream
Nip and Fab set in sale (£8 for cleanser and 60glycolic pads)

So, what else? Am interested in both skincare and makeup. Want in particular a highlighter, blusher, mazzie, lippy recommendations etc.

the B. range mascara is the best I've ever tried. It's tubing so it doesn't smudge but also gives length and thickness. Haven't bought anything else since trying it.

The glycolic overnight peel is brilliant. And super cheap.

oh tell me more about the radiance range? Its buy one get one free. only got a tiny superdrug near me so have to venture into the big town or online. I like the sound of the overnight peel.

have tired slightly dehydrated skin, 39yrs old and not many wrinkles at all. Skin usually good just the odd spot depending on time of the month.

loadsa yes agree on packaging have to prise open the hydrating powder with a nail file so can see that getting broken very soon - would pay a few pounds extra for more robust packaging.

I put the above mentioned natural radiance glycolic overnight mask on last night, skin felt lovely and hydrated this morning - I already use lots of acid in various products but skin a bit flaky recently so good to have some thing extra to throw at it and was BOGOF so got the day cream as well which is lovely too

wow that's great lex
Just goes to show the look of the budget stuff can be just as good.

The only let down is the packaging. As much as I love my MUA powders , I find the lids snap off the base really easily leaving me with separate bits in my make up bag.
If MUA could sort this little glitch out I would be so happy.

For now the product itself is so good I can live with this minor grumble .Smile

I ruddy LOVE Superdrug. Grin

Some of my faves are:

B.Pure Micellar water (buy when BOGOHP)
Pro Vitamin Conditioner
Shea butter and bamboo shower gel (not sure I like the new shower foam but to be fair, I've only used it once)
Superdrug own brand hand cream - can't remember the name (it's on my desk at work) but it's in a bright pink tube).

Their own brand stuff and the B range is all Leaping Bunny certified too. Smile

great thread!

I got the MUA undress highlighter today (think it was rose shimmer or something, the pinky one anyway) and the hydrating finishing powder - applied them as soon as I got home of course, later on I got two compliments on how I looked, one face to face and one chatting to a friend on facetime so v pleased esp for the price and to think I nearly bought the hourglass ambient light recently for more than 25x the price!

Some one on here recommended the MUA lip balms ( sweet sheen)? I got the purple and a reddish colour , they are really good- £2!!

I like their body butters, usually half price or 2 for 1. (£3.99), just as good as the body shop.

oooh... I used to love Shaders and Toners.

Report
Greengardenpixie · 02/01/2016 20:04

I would probably start with something that is similar to the depth of your own colour [ dont want you to have light roots!!!!]

Report
Greengardenpixie · 02/01/2016 20:03

Well i got about 4 or 5 washes. It reminds me of the old shaders and toners you used to get showing my age

The colour builds up as you use it so you wont get anything drastic. You can also leave it on for longer.
Colour wise, It depends upon what you like really. They are so cheap anyway. Worth a try. It has made the dye on my hair lovely and fresh again :)

Thanks green I think I need to give this a try. I am also sick of doing my roots every 10 days! I'm dark brown so would you have a recommendation for a colour? Does it come in different colours?

thenightsky · 02/01/2016 19:53

green How many shampoos do you get out of a bottle of Colour Effects? I'm tempted to try but worried it will work out expensive as I shampoo mine 5 times a week due to exercise related sweat soaked hair.

*after that.
I am pissed off using dyes and sitting there with them in my hair so am trying this out as an alternative.

Report
Greengardenpixie · 02/01/2016 19:51

It does say you shouldnt use it on grey hair in the small print but i ignored it. I suppose they mean, if you have a full head of grey hair and dye it, you could kind of end up with a pale gingery colour. For me, i kind of have grey streaks and with repetative dying of the copper, it is dying the grey a pale auburn which is the effect the lady at my work had and i thought it looked beautiful. I use it instead of shampoo when i wash my hair. Then i condition and that it.

Greengardenpixie · 02/01/2016 19:48

Well i am using it :) My hair has been coloured for years and years now. Actually some people reviewing it have said that it means they need to dye their hair less. Gives some longevity to their already coloured hair and peps it up a bit between dyes.
Tbh, i love the colour that i have chosen which is copper gold. It is perhaps too light for me as i need to be careful that my roots [which are growing in grey] are not lighter than the rest of my hair. For now, i have looked at it in daylight and it seems ok. It gives a lovely shine too. I have ordered some of the darker colour to see what i like the best. I love the colour of the copper though.
