I know this has been done before, but can you please let me know what I should be buying in france? I maybe have a budget of £50 but would like some products that will last, products that will make a difference and products that are cheaper in france too.

(Also, any food tips for what to bring back from the supermarkets there that you can't buy here if you have any?)

I shop at Pharmacie Monge which is mentioned above. It's extremely popular with Korean tourists who arrive by the coach load.

Best advice is to go there outside peak hours and with a list! It's not the kind of place you can window shop in ;)

Any RECs for discount pharmacy in Paris, will have 24 hours, but DH and 3 DCs too so will have to fit it in quickly, we'll be staying near Bastille . . .

Caudalie Divine oil is way stronger scented than the Nuxe equivalent.
I like them both to be honest.
I've just google and discovered that Avibon the Vitamin A cream is discontinued :(

The Nuxe oil and the Caudalie Divine oil are basically the same thing and I think there's only about €2 between them. Basically if you like rosey scents get the Nuxe, if you don't, get the Caudalie which is lily of the valley.

I'm obsessed with the Caudalie Divine scent - I even bought the Parfum!

Nuxe Reve de Miel I tried face wash which personally too greasy but nice...

I have got Nuxe face mask with rose petals which is really nice too...

I really don't bother with other stuff.

in UK have tried Avene rich cream (in jar) which is nice and using Vichy Aqualia moisturiser - again very nice. I am using the Avene Cold Cream Bar though and that is very nice, surprisingly enough! Didn't think I would be that impressed by it!

Nothing I would necessarily say has made a vast difference or would buy a lot again!

The Laino body lotions are good and reasonable at about 10-12 Euros for a 500ml (or more) pump bottle. It comes in olive oil, shea butter and (harder to find) an apple-pulp hydrating version. I tried to persuade Escentual to stock them...

I have Eau Jeune Eau Fraiche as well! I also got some Pierre Cardin "Choc" in a supermarket, which was my posh perfume in my yoof. Supermarket perfumes are definitely worth a sniff - lots of eaux de cologne there.

Often you get good deals at 'parapharmacies' which are like pharmacies but without the dispensing bit (I think). Better deals on LRP, Avene etc there.

I use Avene but try and avoid buying it in a standard pharmacie as it's just too expensive. Now and again, I've bought it in Boots when it's 3-for-2.

For babies, you can get a fabulous ointment for cleaning bums at nappy change: like this. It's called Oleo-Liniment and is thick and creamy, scent-free, but no need to use nappy cream afterwards. Fabulous stuff! Cheap as chips - you only need to pay 5-6€ for a huge bottle. It even comes in vials for travel.

Yes! You can still buy eau jeune! I buy the eau fraiche every year as my holiday scent. Doesn't last long on but who cares?

Everyone else has already recommended shower gels which is my usual big stock up so I'll say cheeseburger flavoured crinkle crisps for a food choice possibly the least classy recommendation on thread but they are nice!

Just bought a huge bottle of lavender water, with big glass stopper at the pharmacie. It is just lavender water and a very discreet old fashioned scent. My DH loves stuff like that. The bottle looks gorgeous too.
It was just under 14 Euros.

Twinklestein yeah I use Tahiti a lot over there, but as I normally do Easyjet and carry-on luggage I am a bit wary of when I do have stuff to bring back properly!

I am in France at the mo, but flew here so taking vast quantities of things back, especially tins of things like confit of duck is a no no.

I always do the pharmacy thing, but have noticed that it's really not that cheap at the moment and loads of things like La Roche is cheaper in the UK. Nuxe is almost on a par since you can get it in M&S now.

I have got those big blocks of Savon de Marseilles. I love them, they look great too.
