Help! Which dress for work dinner tomorrow?

I have an evening work thing with many big cheeses tomorrow, I am a lowly underling and trying to at least dress like I belong at the table. I have panic bought three dresses today with a view to wearing one and taking the other two back but can't decide and would appreciate thoughts. Other relevant information: I'm not planning to change so will be wearing it at work all day beforehand, I'm about 5' 9" and a size 12.

I love Phase8 dresses but those two are not very nice. The black one is sophisticated, understated and elegant. Go for that one.

I am going to be one of the only women there, and one of the others is so perfectly put together that I am destined to look like a tramp in comparison, but in this case I think dull might be best!

Thanks both - I th, that's my favourite too. The only suitable shoes I have are metallic so will raid my jewellery collection for something suitably statement-y that matches!

The last one is quite dull but the best for this occasion esp if you are going to be one of few women there. Put nice jewellery with it (perhaps different than during the day) and it could be chic. I don't like the second one

I would opt for the third dress in black. It's lovely and so versatile as you can accessorise it with statement jewellery or a bag/shoes to add a pop of colour if you wanted. Or you could wear more classic jewellery such as pearls. Good luck!

I really like the debenhams one best , it looks really stylish and sophisticated. I would just finish it off with a statement necklace Smile
