I live in a small city but the choice for pre teen girls is terrible.
Next is too young now as is m&s. H&M is crap now.
She isn't quite big enough for small women's. So top shop and teen Zara are out.
She like New Look teen range but the don't have much stock.

She would like a chequered shirt but I can't find one anywhere in her size.
Age 11-12

Where do you shop for your 11 yr olds?

My dd loves New Look but the 9-15 range depends which shop you go to.

Oddly enough the Trafford Centre store has no children's clothes, the store in the main town where I live has a small range, the small adjoining town slightly better. The retail park store & a store in a different city has a great range.

Picturesinthefirelight · 29/12/2014 23:30

She also likes gap but we buy from an outlet store.

AugustaGloop · 29/12/2014 23:40

DDs are 10 and 11 and are interested in clothes. They also do not fit adult ranges apart from the odd top. We get from the following shops (often online)

Johnnie b
New look teens
Forever 21 kids
Gap
Zara
Mango
H and m
Abercrombie kids
River island kids

Thanks. We've ordered some bits from river island kids online.
The choice was quite good and not young looking it overly girly.

I think the Johnnie B range from Boden is great and lots of it isn't at all girly.

Eastpoint · 30/12/2014 07:47

River Island jeans come up small, my dd is 13 & 5', super skinny & their Molly jeans in a 6 fit her well (but they are expensive). American Apparel have some good things but they too are expensive. Dd doesn't have school uniform so we get good wear from her clothes.

ClaimedByMe · 30/12/2014 09:42

Superdry is another favourite of my dd but it costs a fortune or just what ever she finds in my wardrobe!!

TheFairyCaravan · 30/12/2014 10:24

New Look Teen range have a better selection on line. They have quite a few checked shirts.

ihatethecold · 30/12/2014 11:28

Thanks fairy. We have done quite a large order from river island so I'm hoping they fit.
I can't spend anymore Confused at the moment.

my dd has forbidden me from purchasing anything from Boden or Monsoon(which I loved on her) but she chose lots in Matalan to wear for Christmas parties etc, jeggings, blouses, jackets and it's actually ok. Also New Look is fine as things don't need to last long with them growing so quickly / fashion changes.

apotatoprintinapeartree · 30/12/2014 16:55

Hello OP

We went to New Look and Debenhams today, but dd is tall and a larger build so can take size 8 womens.
There was a lot in the sale at Monsoon, if that's your type.
Can she manage a size 4 as Top Shop is good as well.
My dd doesn't like Tammy or H&M anymore but they had lots in the sale too.

ihatethecold · 30/12/2014 17:00

Our order from River Island kids came today.
I'm really impressed.
Everything looks really nice on her.
Only 1 top is going back.
It looks quite well made.
She is over the moon.

Did you not find some of the stuff on RI website a bit "trashy " for want of a better wordHmm esp the shoes?

Bonsoir · 31/12/2014 00:33

Zara goes up to age 13/14.

ihatethecold · 31/12/2014 09:25

We bought leggings style trousers and a t shirt type top.
There was a gorgeous pleated knee length skirt that came but it's too big.
It would look lovely if we had somewhere more formal to be.

The leggings look they will last longer than 5 minutes.

These are the leggings. We ended buying 3 pairs in different colours/patterns.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but the tk maxx here is brilliant for clothes for that age.

ihatethecold · 31/12/2014 09:57

Our tkmaxx has barely anything in pre teen sizes.
Shame really cos I like going in there.
