Hi,

I am looking to get my mum some new skincare and make up for Christmas. I know at the moment she uses Avon skincare and Max Factor make up but don't think it's really working for her. I was going to take her to a counter to try a few things out first but wasn't sure which one?

Any recommendations?

Thanks so much

My Mum has fantastic skin and uses Clinique repair wear laser thingy foundation. I asked her this summer because I want to look like her!!!

Skincare she uses either Elemis or Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser. Moisturiser- I buy her some posh stuff for Christmas always, L'Occitane, Elemis, Liz Earle etc.

I second NY Frankincense as well. It's amazing.

Clarins skincare is excellent and both their Vital Light and Super a Restorative ranges good for more mature skin.

Also recommend using a tinted moisturiser rather than heavy foundation - Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier both do brilliant versions and BB is generally good for the 'no makeup makeup' look which is so much more flattering on older skin.

I'm hurtling towards 60 and I've just switched to Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation. It's very light so doesn't settle in the um...creases. I just stopped at their counter to ask a few questions and they were very friendly and seemed to know their stuff.
I mostly use coconut or wheatgerm oil as a moisturiser but Neal's Yard is one of the few brands I do occasionally buy - particularly the Frankincense moisturiser.
