I'm feeling so bleugh, and need some inspiration.. I seem to always wear the same kind of thing- I work in quite a physical job so it can never be very 'pretty' iyswim and it tends to be casual, but then I find myself wearing the same sorts of things at the weekend too.
Today, I'm wearing an oversized white top from boohoo, skinny jeans from top shop, white converse and a dark red blazer..

Really flared skirts work well on pear shaped figures, as it shows off your smaller waist and skims over the larger areas.

Something like this:

skirt one

or this

I have quite a few skirts like this as I'm also a pear shape. I tend to wear them with a plain blouse tucked in (for work) or with a vest top tucked in (at the weekends).

My legs aren't my best feature, so I tend to get them just below knee length - hopefully that would be long enough to hide your scars if you aren't comfortable with them?

Shoes wise? Ballet flats. Always always ballet flats!

Bet you don't have a horrible face :(

When I feel like this I buy sme nice perfume, earrings, lipgloss and then dump out everything in the wardrobe that does nothing to me (I keep plain stuff for work until it wears out though)

onelittlelady, I'm wearing cobalt blue skinnies as well! I've rolled the bottoms to ankle length. Top half is flowered t shirt under a long, fitted chambray shirt from Crew. It wasn't hot in Suffolk today! Fit flops on feet as had to walk a lot.

Like these happyland. But these are quite chunky, I've seen slimmer, more feminine looking ones that would look lovely with dresses and skirts.

HappyLand, I'm exactly the same as you - size 8 on top and 10 bottom. I feel I have a huge bum and thighs but my husband says I'm lovely and curvy :) I try to concentrate on my good parts - I love my little waist and small upper frame.

I have stretch marks on the backs of my legs and feel a bit conscious wearing shorter dresses (although I shouldn't really, loads of people have scars, stretchmarks, other imperfections. ..) so I usually wear longer skirts. What about a maxi dress for you? They do suit hourglass figures. there's a nice shoe I'm thinking of thatst closed and looks nice with dresses and is cool in the warm weather but I don't know what they're called, daps is coming to mind but I don't mean the lace up ones. I'll wander off and see if I can find a link to some.

As for tops with jeans I've got a load of vests and tees from Primark and I wear them with cardigans, hoodies or blazers.

thanks :)

Oh you don't sound negative, like not unusually so, we're all like that- I know it can be tempting to be down on yourself!

I love scars actually Grin I have a noticeable one on my arm and I think it looks cool. Any scars are cool to me. But anyway, no one would give a flying anything if they saw some scarring on your legs!

You could set out a budget and then have a concentrated period of clothes shopping- online maybe, so you can do the trying on comfortably in your own home, and then be proactive about sending stuff back if you don't like it. Keep track of what you're buying so things look good together.

Oh and don't worry at all about scars. My best friend had a huge car accident which left her in a coma. Skin grafts and repairs etc have left her with a lot of scars, at first she was really conscious but now she goes bare legged. If people asks she tells them a shark bit her Wink

Ooh revolutionary that outfit sounds lovely and the sandals are perfect! I have some of those jelly sandals but think they look a bit too cool for me.
I've got lots of scars on my legs so I am a bit uncomfortable having them out but have been using bio oil so hoping that will help them?
I just have no idea and I used to love getting dressed and choosing outfits, now I just dread it Sad
I do quite like my hair, but only the front.. Sidey bit. I'm not actually as negative as I sound.. Promise!

Oh and my feet aren't nice to look at and I'm super happy with my sandals for this summer: www.urbanoutfitters.com/uk/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=5314423501001

Maybe the flat sole isn't the best for arthritis though. But they're sooo comfortable and they let the air in but keep things hidden Grin
