What do people think of this
www.beigeplus-shop.com/index.asp?pid=2151&pg=1&level1=&level2=&level3=
for my DGS's christening, which is in 2 weeks' time, please?

Nice and could be dressed up or frumpy?

I need something in a real Plus size, thus the use of this website, which I do know has plenty of dreary clothes on, plus very cringe-making comments!

ASOS, not Asia!

Please have a look on yours and evans. I know people tend to be a bit funny about them but for plus sizes for proper parties and events they do have some nice bits.

Worth a look anyway.

Thanks. Have looked on Yours and Evans many times - and even checked out Evans Marble Arch shop - but just can't find the quality I'm looking for.

On the two dresses you posted, I did like the patterns and am a fan if black and white but I don't do sleeveless (and also wouldn't wear a maxi to a christening).

Have ordered daisy dress - will report back. If it's OK, planning to wear with my nice Russell and Bromley black snake wedges and matching bag (their Quilty).

Still puzzling over what cardi, etc to wear, as only suitable ones I've found in my size ( a big 22 on top) are black and that seems like too much black for a christening. As I said, the obvious colour, yellow, looks terrible both with my skin colour and my blonde hair.

Another option would be stick to black cardi, with pretty necklace with white in, and introduce a colour in shoes and/or bag which looks good with yellow as well as monochrome - or even these:

But that will cost more, which I'm not so keen on.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

There is a very similar dress from M&S, here and here which are much cheaper.

I have ordered the second one and it's lovely!

M&S do have a good range of plus size dresses in at the moment.

You could also go for bright pink on accessories.

polyhymnia · 05/05/2014 11:57

Thanks Handrags. Really like first dress but sold out in 22. The second is very smart but I had st my heart on daisises a bit (though it's much better value than my original!). Would be a bit worried the pockets would stick out unflatteringly from having seen it online only but presumably you don't find that in RL?

Yes, bright pink could work for accessories, though wouldn't be good in a large quantity for the cardi as that is another colour that really doesn't work with my skin colouring.
