July wedding - what to wear?

Hi, I'm looking for some guidance here as it has been a while since I last went to a wedding.

So, church wedding, evening reception (as in dinner).

Can I wear trousers? I have DVT and will be wearing a deeply attractive pressure stocking so dont want to wear skirt/dress.

What do plus-size women wear to weddings these days please?

Thank you!

I am definitely more of an apple or even a cider barrel shape. I am quite short and around a size 24. My preference is for plain colour blocks (I live my life in navy/dark red/black).

Because of the pressure stocking I am not keen for any part of my leg to be visible and will probably be in boots not shoes.

Of course you can wear trousers! I live in skirts/dresses so am being a bit hypocritical but I love it when female celebrities wear trousers to events, it always looks so stylish!

You say plus size, what sort of shape? If you're and hour glass I'd go for a high(ish) waist and a wide leg - the sort of Old Hollywood look? Something like this or this with a tucked in, brightly coloured or embellished silk blouse (John Lewis has some nice ones, sequined, bright) - though again if you're busty I'd look out for a v-neck, Reiss with a necklace.

If you're more of an apple shape maybe some patterned straight leg trousers with a loose, plain colour on top? Again, had a quick look on John Lewis, they have these or these, tops wise, plain black or people tree?

Watching and waiting. I have three weddings to go to this year :( don't suit dresses always wear trousers and am a size 20/22. It's not that these weddings have crept up on me I've known about them for ages but just can't get motivated for weight loss ;( feel at my age I'm soooo over diet clubs this is me and it's as good as it gets ! . Can't wait to see what is recommended for you OP Tethersend usually posts on these threads and has great suggestions.
